I don't recall having a strong opinion one way or the other with regard to the movie, but the fly in the eyelashes is iconic for the animated series.

I recently saw it pointed out that if you pronounce Michael Caine's name the way he says it, you're saying "My Cocaine."

Seems obvious that it's a Doctor Who movie. But I never saw it. I want to say that maybe I vaguely remember that there was a movie ... in the '60s... maybe... that the serious was based on. But, honestly, that's farther back than my introduction to The Doctor. So I never went digging.

So a little research tells me that it's Dr. Who and The Daleks, 1965 and starring Peter Cushing, of all people, as The Doctor.

I never knew that Peter Cushing did a turn as The Doctor. Never saw the film.

That movie and Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD (also Peter Cushing) were released in the UK on DVD as the Dalek Collection, which you'd now most likely have to buy used for $25-$30.

Yup. The RiffTrax versions of Dr. Who & the Daleks and Dr. Who Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. are available on Amazon Prime Video.

Ah. The close-up animation is what I remember. I didn't match the pulled-back style.
