sorry, my previous quip wasn't a clue. I just found the Matrix 5 answer amusing considering this movie was quite a long time before the first Matrix so they would have had to go back to the mid-80's (THAT is a clue), grab Lawrence Fishburne, and then bring him forward in time to make the Matrix 5.

While not directed by Michael Mann (he was the producer) this was very much a Mann style movie.
Particularly for the '80s trying to cash in on Miami Vice love at the time.
