It looks like it's available on TMN, so I've tagged it to be viewed Real Soon Now®.
There will be a short intermission while I try to think of something worthy. If anyone has something good lined up that they want to run with, feel free to jump to the head of the line.

Miller's Crossing?
Correct!
I did a search to see if it had been used before, but not until after I posted the shot, and it turns out to be quite popular in these parts (for good reason). C'est la vie.

Known for his historical epics, director Akira Kurosawa was also a fan of American film noir and detective novels -- which explains why he based High and Low (also known as Heaven and Hell) on an Ed McBain story. Toshirô Mifune plays a wealthy corporate boss who must choose between saving his company and paying the ransom for his chauffeur's kidnapped child.

Yes, it was a guess (from a totally nonserious man). I wasn't eager to dig up another movie (my picks always seem too easy or too obscure), so I thought I'd leave it open to interpretation if you wanted to keep going. But I suspect the jig is up now.

Yes, the jig is up. And you are right, it's "A Serious Man".
In the picture of the couple in the synagogue, the guy sitting behind the wife is a guy I used to work with. He and his family were extras in the movie. I didn't know that so I was surprised to see him. I had to stop and back up the scene to double check. And to be certain, the next time I saw him I asked.
