I just remember that specific scene for some reason, very early in the movie, where the wife and the kid are going somewhere and are about to get killed.

The reason this movie was somewhat memorable wasn't because of Statham, but because it was surprisingly watchable for an Uwe Boll production

I love The Prestige as part of Nolan figuring out how the crap movies worked after Memento. If you watched every Nolan film as he was earning cred as an auteur and still think it's garbage, fair enough, but I suppose this thread isn't for debating whether any particular movie is good. It CERTAINLY isn't for debating auteur theory.

I wanted to like The Prestige, but couldn't get past the premise. Reminds me of the problem with Star Trek teleporters.

Man, I rented this movie from the local video store about 10 times back in the early 80s, and probably watched it 2-4 times each time I had it out for rent. I would call the Chicago radio stations and ask them to play songs from the movie. My request was granted once too.

The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space is essentially a Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers parody with much the same premise as Galaxy Quest, which it predates by a few years. I selected it, despite its obscurity, because it was produced by the late Tony Dow.

If nothing else, it's worth a watch just to be able to tell your friends you've seen a Ron Perlman vehicle that they haven't even heard of. That, and it's actually a pretty fun romp, a lot better than I'd expect it to be.
