No.

It was considered a budget title a few years ago.

Let me know when you want the answer to move on.

Legend of Kyrandia?

edit: whatever the last one was in that series...graphics here are too good for the earlier ones (and maybe too good for that last one...that was a looooong time ago!)

Nope, this game had a more tenebrous theme than any of the Legend of Kyrandia series.

Heh, yep, if memory serves that screenshot comes from the nightmare level towards the end of the game (where you could switch between your three different personalities).

I must admit I was kinda feeling the urge to replay Sanitarium after digging up that screenshot, but setting it up to work on a modern system looks like more trouble than it's worth.

I played it for the first and only time on an XP system with no setup (other than maybe putting it into compatibility mode or something).

If you're hankerin' and you have an XP sys, at least give it a try!

Virtualization. VMserver is free(requires registration), and any modern machine should have more than enough legs to run a virtualized '98 fine. The only (somewhat) issue is that you have install '98, requiring the media. I would think a turn based game or adventure game like Sanitariuim would run fine virtualized; no 3d acceleration to cause problems.

The only somewhat issue is tracking down the driver files for the virtualized sound interface, but if you need those I can spot you. I just made a '98 VM for my older gaming needs. :)

My first thought was Sanitarium also but I didn't guess cause I couldn't remember my player character looking like that.

I hadn't even noticed that :D

Here's a hint - The game is the fourth and most recent in a long-running series of games.
