It struck me that when the well was busted I didn't have to worry about frozen pipes. now I do again. Guess I should prepare for that this winter.

Winter sun seems so much brighter than summer sun. Hurts my eyes. Blinds me when Im driving, I guess because it curves over the sky lower down closer to the horizon in winter. In summer it pretty much goes right overhead.

I have not had pumpkin pie in a very long time, because of the milk. It was no different to me than eating pudding. The post eating experience was, somewhat traumatic.

But this year, I finally decided to sort it out, and I made a pie using coconut milk, and it was freaking amazing. I have made about 10 pies over the past month, and eaten at least three of them. I even tried making one using only maple syrup in replacement of the various other sugars, and that was freaking amazing also.

My waistline is not surviving this holiday season very well.

Was never a fan of chocolate pie or pumpkin pie. My wife plus me growing up in age turned me around to them and a lot of other food I disliked when I was little. I still dont like pumpkin spice.

We bought a vegan pumpkin pie at Whole Foods last week and it was so damn good and I'm not big into vegan stuff but I'm willing to try anything to help support my wife's food choices.

I made pudding a couple days ago with unsweetened almond milk and it worked out really well (there's an alternative method on jello's website using non-diary milk). It didn't set as firm when I used regular milk but it tasted just fine and my stomach didn't hurt trying to digest milk.

I've never been a fan of pumpkin pie.

This Thanksgiving we made a mind-blowingly awesome pecan pie ("awesome" here referring to the astonishing amounts of sugar and butter involved).

I love pumpkin pie. Pecan pie, on the other hand, tastes like someone ate five pounds of raw sugar and shat in a pie crust.

My dishwasher is broken. It got stuck in the dry cycle, so I am concerned that something inside got roasted, there is a distinct burnt smell. I am worried that replacement of the broken bit, plus repairing whatever got melted is not going to be as cost effecting as buying a new on. Its about 8 years old, but I see that the model I have sells for $450 standard retail.

My central heater wasn't working this morning. 57 degrees in here. Had to go out and smack the thermostat around a little bit. I wasn't an electronic tech for over 20 years for nothing.

Shouldn't Iron Man and Falcon and whoever constantly be greying out? Superman excepted because of his alien physiology maybe.

What if you would steal a car? Does that make pirating movies OK?

I dunno, but I was horrified when I learned most timbits/doughnut holes have like 90+ calories each. I used to pop them like... popcorn. "This can't possibly be more than a tenth of a 300-calorie doughnut!"

Also, I didn't realize that your avatar is AI art. It's awesome until you notice its weirdness. And then it's still awesome.

If it's donut holes, it's generally 3. If it's the Mini's from like Krispy Kreme that look like the full sized donuts, just smaller, it's like 1.5.

From being a child up to about 1999 we used a bagged vacuum. With it we would sprinkle scented powers or baking soda on the carpet / rug no problem. I tried that with our last one, a Dirt Devil one with the air vortex, about 2 years ago. Geebuz. It clogged the foam filter SO BAD. Hardly any went into the clear collection cylinder. It took forever to get that filter clean. So never again.

Plus next vacuum my eye will be on the old bagged type.

It ISn't a shell. I wish people would stop telling me that. You dont tell a paralyzed person to get up and walk or a mute to talk. Just because you dont see an issue doesn't make it unreal.

Im both physically disabled and with mental issues...mostly with dealing with people or those in authority so no job. None since 1987. So not happening.

If my stuff would sell online id have some money for property taxes and such. untill then no. But losing food stamps because i will get the same in a raise of SS is not fair. And Im worse off for it.

That's the way it's always been. EBT cost of living adjustments don't sync with Social Security's. Back when I was on food stamps, any increase in income lowered the amount I was eligible for. Most years it was to within a few bucks of the amount, neutralizing the COLA increase. Other times it would change me to a different bracket, and the COLA resulted in a net loss.

Having mental disabilities sucks. People find out that you're disabled and look at you. They count your arms, they count your legs, then you see their face turn on the "Oh." They then generally assume that you're just gaming the system. Or else they just assume you're choosing to be that way. I used to get told all the time by rural-raised family members that I just needed to get over it and go find a job. It's like being told "You have depression? Why don't you just cheer up?" "You have PTSD? Just ignore it." "You're an alcoholic? Just don't drink." Like they think it is just a ten-second solution that you haven't thought of yet.

It's why I always used to tell people I was a homemaker. Yeah, I got funny looks claiming that in Indiana while being in possession of a penis, but at least I didn't get the, "Oh, one of those."

BH:
Ya I dont like to mention mental issues or mental disabilities. People then think you have brain damage or ...and not to offend LawB Ive stopped using the word retarded....but I dont know a better one yet but thats what i think people think when I say mental issues. So I just try to avoid that part and talk of my physical ones...which leads to people telling me to get a job or get out more. And yes depression compounds the mental issues I already have.

Oh....Intellectual Disability...that seems to be the wording online these days. That.
