I did not know that about him, but then I barely know anything at all about him beyond the name-recognition baseline.
In regard to his infidelity, it's always shitty to cheat on one's spouse. On the other hand, I give him some credit for owning up and accepting responsibility. A lot of other people in similar circumstances would cut and run, or at least deny any rumours while paying out hush money. For the sake of his family/families, I hope he can sort things out so as to do the least amount of additional harm.

Jon Bon Jovi helped persuade a woman to come off the ledge of a Nashville bridge
Thats not that far from me. Theres a video of it there at my link.Police in Nashville are crediting rock legend Jon Bon Jovi with coming to a woman’s aid on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge on Tuesday night.
According to a statement posted to the Nashville Metro Police Department’s X page on Wednesday, the musician “helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”
“It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” Nashville Police Chief John Drake added.

I wouldn't be tempted enough to find out. The idea of them doesn't do it for me. I don't even like any watermelon candy I've ever had thrown at me. Watermelon, itself, is OK so long as I am in the mood for it. But that's not often, as the texture generally turns me off.

I have discovered Otterpops. These things are great for an after run cooldown snack. The only flavor I don't like is the blue, but my daughter and wife do so it could potentially work out. Unfortunately, I am going through them so fast that we currently have 20 surplus blues. Going to be sad to poor that sugar water down the drain at some point.

Re: Random randomness
The common complaint I see is regarding banana flavoring.
Why do banana flavored candies not taste like banana?
Because the banana that the flavor is based on went (nearly) extinct.
The alleged reason why artificial banana flavor doesn’t taste like the Cavendish bananas we typically buy in the grocery store is because artificial banana flavor wasn’t developed based on that variety of banana. It was developed based on a variety called the Gros Michel, or the Big Mike. This variety of banana was the standard in America until the 1950s, when a fungus essentially wiped out the Gros Michel. The milder-tasting Cavendish replaced the Gros Michel as our go-to banana.

I actually like artificial watermelon (and banana, and grape), but I consider them entirely different entities from the actual foods.
Artificial cherry can take a flying leap, though. And the one thing worse than artificial cherry is artificial raspberry. ker-vomit.

I disagree. We sometimes make watermelon slushies with frozen watermelon, water, a splash of lemon juice, and a wee bit of sweetener. Delicious. Although, I would be more than willing to conceded that that is not a watermelon "flavored" drink, but rather a watermelon drink. So your stance on drinks that only have (presumably artificial) watermelon flavoring may be a very sound stance indeed.

Banana flavored things are bad too. Banana bread? Yum. Banana flavored stuff? Eww. And who the hell decided to make banana flavored tums? That's a punishment in hell. You have horrible heartburn but the only tums they have are banana flavored.
What I don't get is how they keep making stuff with these flavors when cherry, strawberry, orange, raspberry, pineapple, and mango exist. Watermelon is the brown M&M.

I love watermelon, but I can't stand other sweet melons like honeydew and cantaloupe. Those taste sour and gross to me. When they appear in a fruit salad, I actually worry that they might get their slime on my strawberries or whatever.
Also, I am of the school that believes a slight amount of salt on watermelon makes it perfect. If you haven't tried this, you should.

No such thing as grape flavor. It's purple. Purple flavor.

Indiana is rife with watermelons - they grow them here. By the end of the season, you can get a full-sized seedless for $2. I ate a lot, and I mean a lot of watermelons growing up. I don't know whether that was a factor, but I ended up loving watermelon.
It's also quite common to salt it around here. My father and grandmother both did, so I ate it that way for a couple of years.
It's an abomination.

IIRC, "grape flavor" (and the purple color thereof) is based on the Concord grape, so it doesn't taste like the sort of grapes that most of us would normally eat.

Re: Random randomness
I normally don't care for watermelon, but I had an hors d'oeuvre at a somewhat fancy restaurant recently where they put crab meat, shaved radish and cilantro on a slice of watermelon and it was unbelievably amazing. The combination of flavors complimented each other in a way I never would have expected.
That said, I've never come across anything that makes cantaloupe edible, and honeydew isn't much better. It's frustrating that those two are so commonly included in fruit salad because they contaminate and ruin almost anything they come into contact with...terrible stuff.

Exactly how far will you go with a cantaloupe? Myself, I can't stand any hint of green rind. Cantaloupe is all about the sweet spot between the mushy middle and the unripe edge.

I've always found watermelon flavoured things to be an irony. Watermelon itself doesn't really taste like much, so anything flavoured like watermelon is by default very artificial tasting, as to make it a flavour, everything about it tastes so exaggerated.EvilHomer3k wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 4:49 pm

Justin Timberlake pleads guilty to lesser charge of driving while impaired; issues a public safety announcement
Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace sentenced Timberlake to 25 hours of community service and ordered the pop star to issue a public safety announcement. He will also pay a fine of $500 and have his driver’s license suspended in New York State for 90 days starting Friday.
The sentencing was agreed upon by the defense and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office after Judge Irace expressed disappointment in the proposed plea deal because “it was lacking retribution,” calling the initial deal “surprisingly favorable” to Timberlake.
The judge imposed community service which can be done with a non-profit of Timberlake’s choosing and must be completed within one year.

Wife, daughter, and daughter's boyfriend took a trip out of town this weekend to visit a couple of archeological dig sites. (Dinosaurs and Mammoths)
Cool, bachelor weekend for me and all that.
Except, one of the things I was hoping to do is get my project car out of the garage, do some work on it, and them maybe drive it around a bit. Enjoy the weekend weather, why not?
Except wife left her car parked in front of the garage. No big deal, I have a key.
Except daughter's boyfriend parked his car behind wife's car and he took the keys with him.
So now, wife's car and my car are trapped.
Heaven forbid something might come up where I need to use/move the wife's car.
Let alone my plans for taking my car out this weekend.
Guess I'll just stay in and play SW Outlaws all weekend.
Cool, bachelor weekend for me and all that.
