Fujacks virus at www.octopusoverlords.com?

Post by The Meal »

ESET's NOD-32 just warned me that this site (specifically index.php" target="_blank) was a vector for the Fujacks virus. Anyone else getting this warning?
9/2/2010 6:37:27 AM HTTP filter file index.php" target="_blank Win32/Fujacks virus connection terminated - quarantined Desktop\Neal Threat was detected upon access to web by the application: C:\Users\Neal\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe.
I have the quarantined ...index.php file if that'd be of any help.

No such warning here (with Kaspersky).

I didn't get it on my work PC (with McAfee) so I figure it's something to do with my home rig. :(

Sounds like a false positive to me. You can always upload the file to VirusTotal or Jotti's Malware Scan to find out what other AV/anti-malware products make of it.

I just hit the site on my work machine with NOD32 and no warning. Eset did put out a bad update last night that has caused me no end of headaches today so it could be related to that. Make sure definitions aren't 5417/18 or you will have lots of fun tonight.

5417 sounds like the version that was running. I'll make sure that's not the version that it's using tonight and do a full system scan.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Don't forget that you can test your anti-virus software by scanning the EICAR string.
