LCD ??? (Simple, really)

Post by RookieCAF »

What do you guys use to clean it? I know on my old CRT I used a really soft cloth and a little water to dampen the cloth.

But this new LCD.. What should I use? Same thing????

That's what I use. I wet half the cloth and wipe it down. Use the dry half to dry it off.

What I saw for my thinkpad was to get a very soft cloth, wet it and wring it out as much as possible by hand, then wipe it, making sure that no water drips or runs.

Microfiber cloths are the way to go. 90% of your cleaning needs can be taken care of one alone or with a bit of water. FYI, if you go to your local department store and check in the auto parts section they often have wash rag sized microfiber clothes for way cheaper than you will find the exact same stuff in the electronics aisle.

When I have something that is really stuck on I use Monster's LCD screen cleaner. Just make sure you don't use Windex or other detergents it will fog your screen and permanently damage it.

Here's one page I found had a useful convo on this question.
