Food & Wine reports that Fererro changed the recipe by removing the chemical tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ), eliminating hydrogenated oils, and using larger peanuts while also attempting to make the flavor more "cocoa forward." Fererro also started double-packaging Butterfingers for greater freshness.
