I was joking when I asked for Polaski. Yar must have been on there only because they needed a ninth.

That's what I mean. To me she was Polaski. Not integral but part of a season.

Um, Lt. Yar was re-used in a fairly plot-important way. She was in
1987: 10 episodes
1988: 15 episodes
And then again in,
1990: 1 episode
1991: 4 episodes (as Sela)
And again in,
1994: 1 episode

31 episodes spanning 7 years, in a fairly integral role (certainly couldn't have told the whole story with the Romulan's without Yar) that spanned a few seasons.

Where Pulaski was in 20 episodes between 1988-1989... Not integral but part of a season, for sure.

But John de Lancie (Q) would have probably been a better 9th (but only 8 STTNG episode, I was shocked to see). (or perhaps even Whoopi)

Mathematically, Yar beats Guinan's 28 episodes by 3... perhaps they just did it that way.

Most of the ones that apply to me don't apply to me directly. I mean, The Brady Bunch ended when I was one. I have no memories of it being on the air. But I still grew up with it (and with the Beatles, and Bewitched, and the Wizard of Oz, and Bonanza, and Elvis.) So they still make me feel old, despite the events not being in my memories.
