Strictly speaking, that would be the wrong millenium. Windows Me could be considered to be ranked equally with Windows 2K, although there's an argument to be made that it should be assigned a rank of 00, given it's position in the Windows 9x family.

The numbers are being represented with their context scrambled. The joke relies on it. As such, and as it doesn't specify the second millennium, I think it would still be 1000.

After all, Windows 98 technically refers to 1998, but that context was removed in favor of just going with what the box said.

I was a student aide back in high school. A couple of times a week, the basketball coach would send me to the donut shop to get donuts for the teachers. A bunch of old men gathered there every morning. Sometimes they'd argue about the weather. Sometimes they'd argue about the joke of the day in the local paper. Was it really funny? Could it be better? Is it even technically a joke? Had they heard that one before?

I don't know what made me remember that.

James Alan Gardener has a series starting with Expendable that Starfleet would have crews who received complete medical workups to make them perfect specimens and collectives, in addition to redshirt “expendables” who remained diverse individuals so they’d be “other” enough to avoid PTSD in the crew if they were lost.

It's from Kingdom of Heaven, which is technically a historical drama rather than a fantasy film. Maybe it's a subtle jab at the historical authenticity of the movie. Or maybe most memes don't stand up well to a critical eye. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
