I will occasionally put some whole milk into my coffee, as it seems about like heavy cream.

I also switched to skim milk years ago. When I do try whole milk I usually compare it to drinking milk-flavored oil. It's just... thick. And oily.

Whole milk is for coffee and for cooling your oatmeal.
I don't think of it as oily but creamy, and sometimes you need that. But no one drinks a glass of cream.

I ordered some fancy egg nog this year (since most social events are out we went all in on food for the holidays). It was much better than the normal stuff but we were both surprised by the plug of cream in the bottle. Never did get it to fully mix back in with vigerous stirring so each glass had something between a layer and a lump of cream at the end. Good stuff but overkill.
