52 score on Metacritic? No thankee! :)

(I did pick up that adventure title though since it's been ages since I played one)

I'm buying Hydrophobia: Prophecy. It's no longer on sale but I just played the demo on Xbox and I must have it! Seems fun. Much better than I thought. It's $11.99. That's pretty good but I'm kicking myself for not buying it while it was on sale.

Finally bit the bullet on Bloodlines. Now I'll need to get the patches/mods... I still wish I'd finished Redemption. I got to the final level in ancient times, but either got stuck or lost interest, and never made it to modern times, but I was really enjoying it until then... I wonder if there's a good graphical update to it? Hmmm...

Bloodlines is the only vampire series one I played but it was damn good. Buggy as hell at the time but I put up with it and finished it. That says something hehe. I might replay this myself if there's good patches and graphics updates. I think I played the pretty normal good looking clan. I guess if i replay it sometime I should try something else. I think the crazies are a bit too far out for me. Not sure what all was in it now. need to go look it up.

IIRC it really gets fun after that. Might be too late as I bet it's dated but I loved that game.

I had a copy kicking around for ages that I never installed. I picked it up because STEAM is just so darn easy. Anyway, apparently there is an Unofficial fan patch that you will probably want to grab. They are up to 7.6b!

I grabbed the patch and installed it. I was able to get to the character creation screen (running on 64bit Windows 7), but haven't gone any further.

Hopefully I'll get a chance one of these days.

So we can use 3rd party/unofficial patches for Steam installed games? I did not know that.

If I remember what those Bloodlines patches do, they just change data files. I don't think they alter the executable or anything. I remember reading the notes with the mods for Bloodlines and noticing there were instructions for getting it to work with the Steam version. I still have my disk, so I played it with that.

You definitely can use mods for Steam games. I have used plenty for Empire Total War and the Fallouts.

Meant to come back and edit my post earlier. I successfully patched the Steam version of Bloodlines with the latest and recently (!) released unofficial patch, which awesomely also includes a prog that allows you to run widescreen AND high resolutions (I ran 1920x1250 NO problem...and it looks great!).

Grabbed Naval Warfare for $2.50. While I was there I also grabbed Timeshift for $19.99. That's higher than anyone else but I didn't feel like waiting and wanted to play it tonight so just got it. Hope it's a little like Singularity cause it was recommended to me in that thread.

I can easily say this is a GREAT adventure game. Liked it more than Siberia or The Longest Journey. I think the only adventure game I liked more is Full Throttle.

Alright, Daehawk, I bought this on your recommendation damn you! ;) I just finished the first chapter and as much as I love (or at least used to love) adventure games, this one is not grabbing me. Does it get a lot better as the game goes on? I understand it's indie, and done on a budget, but half the characters' mouths don't move when they are talking, and the acting is making me physically cringe.

BUT I can get past bad voice acting and some graphical glitches if there is meat somewhere, at some point, and hopefully a good story/mystery.

I thought Longest Journey was very good (but it did feel like a grind at the later stages) and I never finished Syberia because I downright didn't like it (beautiful graphically, but either the story or the puzzles just completely turned me off, which is rare -can't remember which)

Best adventure game other than Full Throttle? Wow...those are bold words, sir!

Thought it was great from start to finish. I didn't finish TLJ because it got boring. Siberia I found the setting and story intriguing. With Runaway it was the story that kept me engaged. The setting was also varied. I had very few hunt the pixel moments in it. that's what usually kills my adventure gaming. They made a part 2 I tried the demo to I think and maybe even a part 3.

When I search for Aion on Steam, only that page comes up, adn the original price is listed at $29.99. The Wikipedia page suggests that AoB was a free expansion with box release that included extra pets for those retail purchases.

Combined, those two factors make me think that it's a complete purchase from Steam. But I can't find anything that definitively states that as the case.
