Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
I can attest to both TR Legend and TR Underworld as being great fun. Legend being the better of the two. I did not try Anniversary simply because it is just an update of the original TR game from the 90's.

Thanks, guys. Is your link using the Amazon OO affiliate? Just want to check before I buy this.Isgrimnur wrote:Per CeeKay, Amazon has it for Digital Download at $29.99, and:

Also, this would be my first purchase using the Amazon Digital service and from everything I'm reading, it's as simple as plugging in the product key Amazon gives me (which I assume I will get) into my Steam account and download from there?

It really is that easy. The key will be stored in your "digital locker" on Amazon. Cut and paste your way to savings...

No, I didn't affiliate link it, but that's a good call. I don't know how to make sure the affiliate link goes to a particular item page.

Nice. I was hoping it was that easy. Browsing through the Dead Island thread, it works the same way so I'll be keeping my eye open for a download sale.Smoove_B wrote:It really is that easy. The key will be stored in your "digital locker" on Amazon. Cut and paste your way to savings...
Our local GameStop has pretty much stopped selling any recent PC games and I have all these gift cards that I can't use with their digital download (and I'm not sure if I want to use their download either). I'm going to ask if I can use the cards to pre-order SkyRim and have it sent to the store.

I ordered Deus Ex from the OO link and this was the URL in my address bar before I pressed the Buy button.Isgrimnur wrote:No, I didn't affiliate link it, but that's a good call. I don't know how to make sure the affiliate link goes to a particular item page.
I'm not sure how OO is identified because I don't see similar parameters when I initially entered Amazon thru the OO link. That looked like this:
So perhaps it's remembered by cookies or something as you shop around Amazon from the entry page. Anyway, I hope Amazon has an easy way to direct link to a product from an affiliate because I appreciate the work you put into these bargains updates.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
You can purchase games from the GameStop digital download service that are STEAM enabled as well. I've never done it, but they provide you with the key the same way that Amazon would.
Here is a list of all games that require (or use) STEAM activation.
Keep it handy -- you really can save a ton of money, particularly in a few weeks when Black Friday hits...

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Have both. Neither are that good of a shooter. Basically it's a scripted shooter where enemies pop out here and there and you need to kill them before they kill you. It's run and gun, not shock and awe or outflank and outthink. The "campaign" does have a few of the BHD inspired scenarios, but it's not the epic battle you'd expect from the movie. Basically, you're all AROUND the movie instead of IN the movie. The expansion pack is Delta Force vs. Drug Lords.Isgrimnur wrote:Daily Deal: Delta Force Platinum Pack -66% $19.99 $6.79

Skip this and go straight to Joint Ops, or Delta Force Xtreme 2.

Thanks. I got so used to checking the one at GT, and realized that this place has a stronger PC community that might benefit from it as well.

Agreed, great thread. If Issie would just add coupons from local grocers as well as sunday advertisements for all the major electronics stores, he would be 10 out of 10!

It's especially appreciated since I can't check Steam myself during the day, so this thread is the only way I know what I'll be buying that day.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
I enjoyed the film much more the second time around. The first was ... offputting. Kinda like Pulp Fiction.
Daily Deal: Cargo! – The Quest for Gravity -66% $19.99 $6.79 (Metascore 64)
Weekend Deal: Grand Theft Auto Weekend
Grand Theft Auto Classics -66% $29.99 $10.19
All of the above plus:
Personally, I've finished 3, IV, and the Episodes, all on the 360, and they've been pretty fun. Oh, and to make us feel old, this is in celebration of GTA 3's 10th anniversary.

The funny part is the complete collection is actually cheaper than the "modern" collection, because the complete is 75% off while the modern collection is just 66% off.
I guess I don't need to open my GTA1 / London / 2 collection any more.

I was all set to pick up the complete pack when Steam told me that I already had 1-3, SA and Vice City. I still own 5 on 360 and rented Episodes, so I guess that just saved me $12.49.

I loved Hydrophobia while it lasted but just when it starts to get really good the game ends. Only expect to get about 3 hours out of it and little to no replay value.Daehawk wrote:Hydrophobia is a fun but VERY short game.
