YMMV, but I think you're better off sticking with MAME and emulating the original Arkanoid and Arkanoid II: Revenge of Doh. Because the 'retro' classic version included with this release forces you into playing on a virtual arcade cabinet with an ugly fake curved CRT screen with no ability to play in full screen, along with annoying background noises that clash with the underlying audio of the game. Meanwhile the 'Neo' mode has weird issues with the trails on the balls that makes it look like a dog's dinner.

Or better still, grab the classic version of Shatter for a mere $1.99:



Because IMHO, Shatter is easily the greatest Arkanoid-alike ever made, with a superb, award-winning soundtrack and aestethics to match:

i actually have a bunch of Breakout clones. i wish to give special mention to BreakQuest (of which i actually purchased the shareware, back in the day) which is really a nicely realized clone with its own 'physics' take - dunno how it is on super high-rez monitors tho:

i also have Super Breakout for the Atari 2600 - with the paddle controllers - and it's one of the titles on that system that really holds up well to this day.

I have ~17 hours in it, and I had fun with it. It's not perfect, but it's a good 'relax' game, and the tanks are fairly well done.

It's decent if they have the tank you want, and so far, it's all WW2 stuff, just German and American and British, with a couple WW1 stuff too, but selection is a bit eclectic. Some of the earliest inclusions lack detail, but they said they've went back to revise them. And they have a Sherman DLC coming out that would add a lot of Sherman variants.
