Damn, that's too bad. I've really enjoyed the show even though my viewing habits are sporadic. They absolutely should be getting some kind of money influx from the game publishers, because I think I've been tempted to buy each and every game I've seen on the show (and have bought at least 3 or 4).

Instead of publishers sponsoring, I'd rather see some game distributor or someone like Amazon or Target sponsoring.

Yeah, good point. Didn't one game have a sticker, "As seen on Tabletop" I thought there was something like that... I might have been dreaming though.

Yep, I think it was in Target as well. It stuck in my head, as I figured they made it to the big time.. Can't remember the game however..

Another show / network I love goes to the dumper.
The sad, simple truth is that Geek & Sundry hasn’t announced new funding for its most popular and successful show, TableTop. Certainly, producing the show is a significant endeavor. The crew is made up of more than 30 people and with its set and camera and lighting requirements, it’s like putting on a small television program.
Strange I never got that feeling. Seemed cheap and small EXCEPT for the for effects they used in it which seemed awesome. I thought when it started it would just be a single camera filmed little table of gaming..edited of course.

It is easy to miss the process that goes into clear shots, good lighting, clean sound, and decent editing of a two hour game into a 30-minute show.

Not the last episode. Geek & Sundry itself chimed in with a comment on that Geekdad article and confirmed that TableTop will continue:
Geek&Sundry wrote:Hey there!

We wanted to leave a comment to thank you for being so supportive of TableTop, and to let you know that this is absolutely not the end. Fear not, dear gamers — we’ll be updating you via our website and social media very soon!

I am still torn.

I was happy they were ending the show because I bought way too many games because of the show. I was also sad because I greatly enjoy the show.

I am now sad because a season 3 means I will be compelled to buy more games but happy because I also get to watch my favorite internet show for at least 1 more season.

You want more? Dig deep -- Tabletop Season 3 is now on Indiegogo looking for $500,000 to make 15 more episodes:
So what is the plan... Why Indiegogo? Aren't you famous already?

We love the idea of working together as a community to make something awesome. We've always had an independent spirit at Geek & Sundry, so we're very excited to partner with the worldwide audience of TableTop and Indiegogo to become a truly independent production. With your help, TableTop can have the freedom to do things in Season 3 that we haven't been able to do before.

We have big plans for TableTop, and we need your help to see it become a reality.

We want to release more episodes consistently, and with a quality that is worthy of Broadcast TV. We have a great show with an AWESOME host, and we really don't want to muddle that up with outside investors. WE JUST WANT TO SHOW YOU GREAT GAMES!

One day in, halfway there. I think we'll be getting the Tabletop RPG spin-off.

I'm going to support it. I enjoy it enough, and it's shown me enough games that I have liked (and realized I wouldn't like) that I view it as a worthwhile service.

Here's hoping for a crokinole episode next year! :)

Nice. With 8 days left, maybe they can buy a couch not used by adult film stars when Tabletop isn't being filmed.

Or better yet, hire the adult film stars to do an episode. At the end, he could 'join them on the Losers' Couch.'

That game looks awesome; this is the first Tabletop I've watched all the way through (only somewhat because of Dodger Leigh). Unfortunately, the game is running about $70 + shipping at Amazon right now. How long does a typical game last and does it play ok with fewer than 4 players?
