Pumping gas? I've probably done that a dozen is so times. I'm surprised that is still a thing in Jersey, but I'm not complaining.

No - it would ruin the batteries.

... And gas was between $4.19 and $4.49 on the drive for groceries. I guess that's not $5 but I didn't take the time to fill the tank. I'm sure I'll regret that this evening.

Prices here are inching towards $5 again.
This has been a tough year. Prices for nearly everything have risen and pretty much stayed there.

OPEC just cut production by 2 million barrels a day. Expect prices to rise again.

I don't think my electric lawnmower would like that very much.

My car is a plug-in hybrid and I generally drive very short distances so I almost never have to put gas in it (we took a roadtrip to Tacoma and back which required a refill). I once went ~18 months between fill-ups.

Paid $2.89 yesterday (although most of the metro area is far higher).

I'm really digging the hybrid I have. it is costing less in gas than the Tesla I rented cost in electricity. I'm sure that makes Zaxxon sad, but it is what it is. I'm glad I made the right choice (yesterday, I was 49.5 MPG on the hybrid Avalon over nearly 300 miles of driving).

It isn’t everywhere, we were recently at the central coast and it was still around $5 there, and I still see mid-$4 in places. But the Valero’s and an Arco I saw today were around $3.79.

Keep in mind I drive the car for a living and it helps to keep it looking good. For $20 per month, I can get it washed every day if I wish. And it's tax deductible!

It just that as an Uber driver I could totally see an apeal of getting the inside of the car washed. For my own enjoyment as well as for the passengers. But the exterior would be less of a big concern (although not entire off the radar).

And interior is much more expensive. Also, my car is black. Looks terrific when washed, less so when it's dulled by salt and other road crud.

At $20 per month for unlimited premium full-featured wash, it pays for itself in just 2 washes.

$2.78 here. Im gonna try and have my sister run me by the station tomorrow to fill up my 5 gal can while she is up here to take me to take little Buster in for his surgery. I need some for the riding mower for 1 more cut and mulch. Gonna try and cut the shrubs before I mow that way I get it all done at once. And I can pour of gal out into my can for oil/gas mix for the weed eater and blower.

I paid $4.99 for premium last Sunday. I don't usually buy gas on the Pike for that reason, but I forgot to fill up before I hit the road and realized I wasn't gonna make it when the warning icon lit up. That's never happened before, and the Mass Pike is not a place where you want to run out of gas.

I think the normal price is more like $4.50, but I don't buy gas very often so I'm not sure. A buck a gallon one way or the other doesn't make much difference when you usually only fill your 11-gallon tank every 6 weeks or so.

My car likes 91 octane. The choice is usually between 89 and 93, so I generally round up, although the occasional tank of 89 doesn't cause any noticeable problems.

$3.15 for 87 octane here right now, I think it's the calm before the figurative storm that's about to hit.

I recently drove from central California to Colorado Springs and back. I paid $5.79 here before leaving. The cheapest gas was $3.67 in Utah, and I paid $4.88 in Arizona the morning I drove home.

Was up to $3.49 around here and then dropped back down to $3.19 for the last few weeks. However, since I don't work any more I go through less than 12 gallon tank a month, so gas prices aren't as on my mind as they used to be. Also that tank of gas is usually at $.40 discount in "Kroger points", so I'm typically paying under $3 a gallon. $25 a month is way better than my $200 a month habit when I was working, even in Focus.

Was in Orlando today and in a station where a couple of weeks ago I payed IIRC $3.69/gal, today the price was $2.99/gal . And other stations are in line with that drop. It might be possible that some distributors had stocked up for the hurricane season peak but with things in that area winding down, they'll need to get rid of it in time for winter gas.

So today I bought gas for $5.08. So the price has dropped $.70 in just under 2 weeks. Same gas brand but a different station.

There's a few places, one my preferred station, that dropped to $3.20. Sadly, my preferred station appeared to be out last night -- all of the pumps had baggies over the handles.
