The release is getting closer. Time to post a bit of info.

Witcher 1 - You play Geralt of Rivia...a Witcher known as The White Wolf. A Witcher is a demon or monster hunter killer. You were specially trained and potions mutated you to be faster and stronger than normal humans. Geralt is the best of them. But one day while defending a town and your love you died....then disappeared. Now you are found alive but with no memory of what happened.

Witcher 2 - You saved a King and now work for him until fortunes change. You remember bits and pieces of your life as the game goes. You remember The Hunt. Some kinda badass warriors come to this world from time to time and destroy whole towns, kill many and take others with them for sport. they are either from another world or another dimension/realm. Sorta like a Predator. No one ever returns....except you did in the first game. You have offered up yourself for The Hunt if they left your love alone. But you finally escaped and came home.

Witcher 3 - Now you search for your true love while The Hunt searches for you and destroys all in it's path as they do so. Well thats all Ive gleaned...not read any real info yet...Lots of videos though :)

Nice trailer. I wonder who the new brunette lady is and who is the wild hunt chasing? Is it his old love?

Brunette lady? I saw a woman with white hair in the beginning. I'm pretty sure it's:
Spoiler:
I spoiled it because I'm nearly certain she's directly related to the Wild Hunt plot line.

If you're talking about the shot at the 1:39 mark, I'm pretty sure that's Yennefer.

I've read they're claiming it's 20% larger than Skyrim...I predict pain for PC system specs. Pain.

Thought about reinstalling the first one. But i think Im going to be real busy with the Freespace games. I remember the first witch bringing my system to its knees when there was fire on screen. That tower in the swamp was murder on it.

Geralt goes hunting a Griffon. Is it me or does he look kinda chubby? :) Seems overweight.

It's all that extra definition ;)

He does look older though, so that might have something to do with it. Harder to keep the weight off as one gets older.

Yeah, I think he has aged so it's possible that they have decided he's more out of shape

If they ever make a Witcher movie, I think Geralt should be played by Shatner.

I think it's the armor. He looked kind of fat in 2 with certain sets.

I dont want them to make him older. I still prefer his look from the first game. I really didn't like the ponytail and such in the second one.

Well, with it being heavily story-oriented and with each game adding to the story, it makes sense that he's a little more seasoned.

The trailer reminded me a lot of Dragon's Dogma. Hunting large monsters + a full fledged story driven RPG? Sounds pretty good to me.

Weren't we able to get him a "haircut" to change it to different styles?

disappointing, but I'd rather that than some buggy mess get released.
We wanted, and still aim, to give you an incredible experience, an epic adventure in a vast, completely open fantasy universe.
"We wanted"? Hope that doesn't mean they are removing features that were difficult to implement in favor of releasing sooner. Knowing CD Projekt Red, even if that is the case, they'll continue working on it and update it with features as the polish them.

Keep in mind that we'll have to wait an extra year after that for the finally playable Director's Cut to appear.

An interesting article from a UK publication regarding how important sex is to The Witcher and storytelling:
"Sex is the quickest way in which to establish the relationship and provide a justification for the player to pursue this woman,” he continues. “We couldn’t just tell you to go find someone you don’t know or care about. It wouldn’t work.”
That's really not the focus of the article (despite the title), but there are some interesting game play tidbits in there:
In particular, Monheir dislikes the nagging map markers so liberally used in Ubisoft titles such as Assassin’s Creed which show the player the vast number of side-quests and activities available within the world. “It’s overwhelming and discourages you,” he says.

By contrast, The Witcher: Wild Hunt has almost no mission markers on its dynamic map. Occasionally a point of interest lights up when you visit an area, but otherwise it remains oblique. “I believe that our approach encourages exploration,” says Monheir. “We haven’t created the world for nothing. This way, exploration becomes a reward in itself; you know that if you don’t explore a particular area then you might miss out on new stories, new items and maybe even new lovers.”
But this one is awesome:
The game, due for release in May, contains 16 hours of sex scene motion capture data (used to animate the 3D mannequins into their various lifelike positions).
If you thought the American media flipped out about gay alien sex in Mass Effect, wait until they pick up on that one.

I noticed today they are offering me 20% off on GoG because I own the first two games. But I want a physical copy. Then again the CE is $150...so maybe that GoG one is the way to go after all.

The same discount is on STEAM if both games are in your library. And somehow I missed the official system requirements:
Minimum:

Intel i5-2500K 3.3GHz
AMD Phenom II X4 940
GeForce GTX 660
Radeon HD 7870
RAM 6GB
64-bit Win 7/Win 8(8.1)
DX11
HDD 40 GB

Recommended:

Intel i7 3770 3,4 GHz
AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
GeForce GTX 770
Radeon R9 290
RAM 8GB
OS 64-bit Win 7/Win 8 (8.1)
DX11
HDD 40 GB
And just like that, my video card (Radeon 7850) is knocked right the hell out. Considering I haven't even finished the second one, I guess I can't really complain.

I don't know what that has to do with my video card, but I was just pointing out the same 20% discount is offered on STEAM if you already own both through them. Whatever floats your boat. I think I own three copies of the Witcher 2 (STEAM, GoG and the Xbox360). I think I've played the intro part at least 6 times. At this point, cost savings isn't a draw for me.

From the makers of the next game in the Mario Bros series:

Well we decided to broaden our audience with the next game. There's a whole older audience who probably thinks "Why the heck is Mario going through all this trouble to save this princess? Why would she even give a plumber the time of day. Well as the players discover more of the story behind his motivation, they find out it's because she's a good lay and he knows how to "lay the pipe" so to speak. We figure if this takes off we'll work on a remake of Tetris next.

Another game where my CPU is letting me down. I really need to upgrade, but just can't afford it right now

Exactly my thought ... I got into Witcher (the first one) a while ago, hit the town and then started to suffer from a familiar (at least to me) problem: too many tasks and stuff going on and it felt a bit like work (yes, I know, it'll get better)

Re: system requirements: I recently upgraded a 5 year old machine (CPU is a i7 920 4x2.66) with a new and recent video card (MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G) and was blown away by the performance improvement. I play everything on 1920x1200 resolution and everything I tried (e.g FarCry 3, Skyrim, Metro 2033 Redux) works on the highest settings (FarCry 4, too but it's smoother when turning some stuff a bit down). I'm not going for 60fps but need at least around 30fps to feel good.
My point is that the processor (generally) doesn't seem to play a huge role for games (again, my experience) and that a good new video card may resolve performance issues quite well.

P.S. Had a ATI Radeon HD 5870 in this machine before - the GeForce is a huge step forward, both in performance as well as in quality of some effects (which I have never even seen before; FarCry 3 showed this very nicely)

Oh, I agree somewhat. I upgraded my video card and did have some games perform much better (I have the same CPU BTW) but some still choke. I only upgraded to a 660 as that was all I could afford :-(

Was that girl removing her bra with magic?

Also, there is less than 0% chance my computer will be able to run this game. Maybe I can buy my roommates PS4 for cheap when I move....
