Just picked up the Sega Genesis/Megadrive bundle for $7.49. 50+ games. Worth it for the RPGs alone - Phantasy Star 2-4, Shining Force 1 & 2, etc. It's been fun discovering I still suck as badly at ESWAT and Altered Beast now as I did when I was 14.

Not all the titles are winners, but there's enough there to justify the cost. I think the kids are going to love all the Sonic games included.

be sure to try Landstalker

Gain Ground, if you've never played it before, is quite good. it's a 'tactical top-down shooter', kinda. gets very difficult.

Gain ground was a top 5 ever arcade game for me. My friend and I could make a quarter last the better part of an hour on that game.

I keep thinking I want to buy this - the 3 BG games. Had them in my cart last night (have a 10% bundle discount coupon from a recent bundle purchase - suckered in for discounted mystery bundle - nothing I wanted though..). But then I remember I owned the originals, came nowhere near to completing them, have FAR less time to even attempt to play them these days and was not overly fond of the combat system, which is a significant part of the joy of RPGs for me. So I keep going back and thinking to buy and keep stopping.

LOL. I have bought the BG games at least twice, and I still consider re-upping for the "enhanced" editions all the time. "Maybe on the easy setting I can get through it finally..." I totally feel what you're saying!

I wish the "enhanced" editions had unlimited storage and/or "town portal". (LOL, but I am also totally serious...)

The secret to making the normal difficulty into easy is simply to equip everyone wit ha ranged weapon for the first couple areas or so of the game. Thats what I read and did on my 3rd try at it back when it was new. Everyone got a bow...even Boo :)..I keed...but bows won the day and got me lvld up enough to play the rest of the game normally.

I remember you or someone saying use ranged weapons before.

It wasn't so much that the combats were too hard, just not so much fun. Probably too used to something like the gold box games or a 3rd Ed game called Low Age of magic (think it's still in early release or something). They're adding some story stuff, but trying to replicate 3rd Ed rules. Got it just before the price went up while it was on sale (think I paid $3.39 or something like that). Had fun with that for a while.

Don't have the patience to play through for the stories. I couldn't complete the Star Wars Bioware game either, nor could I get far in the online game with it's great stories. Overall, more of a strategy game player. Like some ARPGs too. Think Diablo ruined me for RPGs though.

FWIW, Fanatical's top deal is Shadow of War for $14. And yes, it's the gold edition, all the DLCs.

Thinking of getting Everspace for $5. I don't remember anything about this when it was released in 2017, but the comments suggest it plays like Freelancer (one of my favorite space-games).

I have Everspace, but I want the DLC which is down to $5.

This war of mine
Guess I might finally check it out someday now that I own it. Had I known what it was before I redeemed it, I probably would have given it away, but I couldn't see a way to see what the game was before I redeemed the code on Steam.

Oh well, I hear it's a good game and I should check it out someday.

If you want to give them away there's this outfit call Steamgifts.com where you basically give away the keys or gift links but they hold the lotteries and entries for you. You just come back when there's a winner and send the keys off (they do that for you too). The catch is if you just joined, I think you can only give like 5 or 10 keys a day. You can hold the deadline as long as you like but I generally do it in 24 hours. (a AAA game would attract a few thousand entries if you don't put any restrictions, an indie game could go as low as 500 entries on a weekend).

It's what I do with my "excess" of Steam game keys from Humble or Fanatical that I know I (or you guys) would ever play, may as well let someone enjoy it.
