This really confused me. I'm guessing something got cut out due to time? Also, his dad was a boxer. I don't think getting beaten up means a lot to him. It's just something that happens.Moliere wrote:It's interesting how much Daredevil broods about killing bad guys, but he has no qualms when it comes to torturing information out of them. Almost every episode has him breaking bones until they give up the information. I guess it helps that he always knows if they're lying since no one would have an elevated heart rate during a fight and follow-up torture routine with a masked man in a dark alley unless they were withholding information.

Re: [TV] Daredevil Season 1
Maybe they had no real way to show him getting out of the mob without beating the crap of a bunch of blind people? I mean its not like he had a lot of room to flip away from them all. But later they were standing in that room as it caught on fire.... IDK. Use your imagination! In many ways that scene was the a statement about the choice of disability. You can accept you are disabled and be chained to it, or be like the Daredevil, accept it, but push yourself to still be independent. At least as person with a disability, I chose to see it that way.Moliere wrote:When the blind Chinese workers mobbed him, right? Any theories as to what the deal is with Gao? When she exits she says that her home is "much further away then that" but I wasn't sure what she meant.

Holy shit!
Not through season 1 yet. Only read page 1 in this thread. Know it's a drag but appreciate the spoilers.
The style, art direction, in how the show is recorded, very much the way a comic book would be drawn. Lighting, story lines... been a long time since I wanted to own a comic book err umm graphic novel.

I think we're at the halfway point and it's been everything I was told to expect. Definitely raises the bar and it's an awesome feather in the cap of Netflix - they should be proud. Vincent D'Onofrio is great and while I of course remember him as Pvt. Pyle in Full Metal Jacket, I totally did not know he was Thor in Adventures in Babysitting.
The fight choreography is bananas and after doing some research I learned that the guy in charge of it for is also working on Deadpool. I didn't see anyone provide this EW article about the one-take hallway fight, so have at it.

Dammit - yet another movie I'd like to show my kids that Netflix doesn't have available to stream. Also, I don't even remember Thor being in Adventures in Babysitting, but I haven't seen it in about 30 years or whatever. Off to the video store, I guess.

You can rent it from Amazon streaming for $4 in HD. If you don't remember Thor...you must have hit your head. Daredevil rumor of the week is that they are courting Jason Statham for Bullseye. I can't see how they would afford him.

Re: [TV] Daredevil Season 1
I did finally finish this. Enjoyed the overall show, and a lot of the Marvel characters/details come to life. The violence was too much/unnecessary for me, but I'm old-fashioned that way. I was shocked at a couple of the plot twists that came down (primarily the same ones hentzau mentioned). Looking forward to season two. The Punisher should be interesting, I think the Elektra casting looks good, and I'm interested to see what they do with some other leftover plots.
If nothing else, it makes for good TV fodder while I'm on the treadmill.

Re: [TV] Daredevil Season 1, et al.
No worries. Statistically speaking, it's likely this will fall to the bottom of the forums and then in April of 2016 someone will start a Daredevil 2 thread without searching for this one. At that point, someone will point out we already have a Daredevil thread and link to it and the battle for thread supremacy will commence.
It has been foretold.
