You couldn't make a white character in the ME games...same in Andromeda. It wasn't brought to attention until some Asian players voiced their concerns. Latino was the lightest you could come. Did no one notice that? I really didn't until I restarted ME3 and tried.

No one told that asshole that white tears is cum...drink up scumbag.

I don't know what you're ranting about, but I'm not sure that quoting a thread from Reddit forum that is known for thinly veiled hate speech is the best way to make your point.

I can use links from 100 other sites if its better. Some racist ass got fired from Bioware. He was a dev on Andromeda. He had been spitting that shit on his Twitter for months and yet Bioware didn't fire him. Lots of people just going to pirate the game now.

I'm not even sure what the issue is; I'm pretty sure my character in Mass Effect 2 and 3 were white anyways. And the default female Shepard in Andromeda is freaky looking, but looks white enough. It's not like the game has a "ethnicity" category when customizing characters, so not sure how you could say the characters are one ethnicity or another.

Lesbian haircut is the name of my Bootyherax cover band. (that's one for the hardcore fans)

I must be weird because all for all three games I used the default male Shepard for my avatar. I could not have cared less about any of that.

I've been watching Andromeda and I didn't want to come off as a negative Nellie, but the videos I've seen really have me questioning what they're doing with the graphics and animations. I will fully admit that everything RPG related is going to be (likely unfairly) compared to the Witcher 3, and the animations and models look (to me) like the ones I remember from Mass Effect...a game I started playing like 10 years ago. I don't know if it is just their style or they're using assets from their libraries, but the stuff I've seen didn't look to me like I imagined a game being released in 2017 would look.

It's pretty easy for me to ignore any issues with the animations because the game looks positively STUNNING on my XBox One in HDR.

Short hair like that is a guy cut to me and a lot of times its a lesbian that wears it.

I look at that character and instantly think gay. I thought that even after they said it was a romance interest....which is one reason I dont care for them in this game. No real girl girls in it.

You think lesbian because you're jumping to conclusions.

My wife rocked that haircut for years. My 7 year old decided her long hair was annoying and wanted to look like like a punk rock star. Like Pink.

You get to romance aliens...and you're worried about their...hair???

Cassandra's haircut was almost exactly like my wife's. Perhaps that is why I picked her. But that accent did not hurt either.

Do note, I picked Tali in the first trilogy. So hairstyle or even face had very little impact on my preference.

While I never loved the hair, her character was awesome and well done, so she's one of my favorite of the romance options in RPGs that I've played. I also did like that DA:I gave her a hair and body type that made some logical sense for her character (among other things, long hair is pretty impractical for a sword-wielding warrior).

Tali was always out for me because, due to meeting her in connection with her Quarian "coming of age" quest always made me think of her as being pre-teen-ish in age, even though it became apparent later in the trilogy that she was intended to be a full adult and everything.

Anyway, I suspect this game I'm going to go with Cora. I actually do like her hair. And by contrast I'm not crazy about either Peebee's name or her weird black splotch around her eyes (though I am assuming that the latter at least will be explained in game).

IGN's review is up (a 7.7) and I do not think hairstyle is going to be too much of an issue (emphasis mine):
Including same-sex and interspecies, and when you’ve gone out of your way to talk to them and run errands for them (which often involve blowing up robots or killing outlaws) to kindle the flames of your budding relationship, you’re treated to a full-on R-rated sex scene the likes of which the Mass Effect series has never seen before. My wife’s reaction as I sealed the deal with human biotic commando Cora was to state, matter-of-factly, that, “This is porn. And it looks weird.” She’s not wrong on either count – especially since male Ryder appears to have painstakingly removed every hair on his body below the neck – but I’d call it tasteful porn thanks to the context of the conversations leading up to it.

Reviews seem to indicate the game is decidedly mediocre, especially when compared to the previous ME games. It also seems to be rife with bugs. May be worth waiting until a few patches get pushed through if you're not biting at the bit for the game.

So about 4 hours in on my free trial and overall i like it.

- re: the animations i dont think i would have really noticed it unless I was looking for it. Its really a mountain of a molehill for me and doesn't bug me. I am not a huge graphics whore by any stretch. (yes i see the irony in the next statement) I am playing on a Nvidia 1080 and have everything cranked up and overall, the game is amazing to look at (animations notwithstanding). The cut scenes are WOW to me. The set pieces are also pretty damn nice overall. I can take clunky animations if that's the biggest downside to it. I really think those who are really upset about it are graphics enthusiasts, but that's just me. If you can get over it, you'll be fine.

- the jet pack is neat and looking forward to using it.

- i cant seem to pause in the middle of combat and give orders. I seem to recall you can do that in previous iterations. Really doesn't bother me yet, but it would be nice to be able to do.

- am playing with a controller and the right stick, if you press it, changes the way you look down the barrel of the gun. So if you are used to the head on left, gun on right and you accidentally switch so the head is ont eh right, gun on left it can get annoying real quick. Especially since you really need to use the right stick to look around. Doesnt help that the model they use for the control schematics is an xbox controller and not a logitech in the help menu. I can figure things out so its minor.

- explore the starter area before you meet up with Ryder's dad. Couple of hidden things. Not sure how valuable they are, but they stuffed a few things in a few remote corners.

-only bug i hit was during a cut scene when lightning struck and teh sound went quiet. I rebooted and got my sound back.

-looks like standard ME skill tree: biotics, tech & combat. I do like how you make the choice here. As you are selecting the skill to use a small window pops up and in it it shows not only the skill progression and what you get at the different levels, but there is a little window within it that has a looping animation that shows the skill in action. So you get a nice taste of what you can do. Also the details on the skill progression are very nice.

-crafting is in. Made a quick gun. Seems simple enough. Really didn't have time to fully explore that.

When i stopped last night I just hit the first real planet and haven't gotten into it too deep.

So my bottom line is this...if you like ME overall, you'll be happy with this.

They give her full Asari name in the game but PeeBee is really the initials - PB is just a short version. To real name is far too long :)

You could do this in past games, which I really enjoyed. You could use your biotic companion to cc enemies while you did your stuff with a soldier of infiltrator, and set up combos using combined powers of your team. They wanted combat to flow "quicker" so that they took that out. Not sure why, they could have left it in, give people the option. I prefer not playing biotic but in watching some play throughs, I don't remember seeing Cora, ostensibly your biotic actually using them (though maybe I missed it) so that seems a total waste. I really am disappointed they took this out.

To be fair, I think Daehawk's just saying that he personally doesn't like Cora's hair, not that he expects the designers to cater to him.

This isn't "I personally don't like that style of hair." What was said was "This character has a lesbian hair cut, and I don't like it."

So, to explicitly Morton, "To be fair, I think Daehawk's just saying that he personally doesn't like Cora's hair, not that he expects the designers to cater to him. And that short hair is a 'lesbian hair cut'." Har har.

Well, he's being crude / offensive about it, to be sure. But he's saying that he personally doesn't like it *because* it's a "lesbian hair cut". Again, not that (from what he's said anyway) that he expects the designers to cater to him (to not give love interests "lesbian hair cuts").
