I saw a interview wit ha half brother. The poor guy didn't have any teeth. You'd think Prince would have helped him.

Anyways Im starting to get a feeling that maybe he committed suicide. I hope not. I mean he left no will and no note that we know of . But his actions prior to his death are strange. It would seem on the plane emergency landing he was unconscious. Then he rides his bike the next day. Then Sat does a impromptu home concert. Goes to eat Tuesday then gets dropped off late Wednesday and found in his elevator dead. I wonder why he was in the elevator. Anyways the pills could have been his way out. Maybe at 57 life was catching up to him and he didn't want to be around for more. Dont know. Id say not suicide from just the stuff I 'think' I know about him. I hope it wasn't. Him saying "No matter what you hear give it a couple days before the prayers"

I just cant fathom all the stuff that happened in the last week or two of his life and the way he died.

I binge-watched one of those "celebrity autopsy" shows a few months back, and the common thread for most of the celebrity deaths was weird drug combinations. You can die unexpectedly through combinations of drug cocktails and already being sick. I believe Brittany Murphy's death was like this - she had drugs in her system but wasn't a known abuser; it was just a combination of severe illness and prescription drugs and a person whose celebrity made them afraid to get proper medical treatment.

As a RN, I've thought all along this might be the likely scenario.

It was also reported Prince was dangerously anemic at death as well. Jehovah Witness won't take blood transfusions either. I'm curious to see if he was urged to have a transfusion a few days before at the emergent hospitalization and he refused.

Prince might have had the "perfect storm" for a sudden death and the percocet was the tipping point.

Illness + Percocet = death

I dunno, seems plausible.

Don't think Prince was doing much in the way of eating on his last days. According to his personal chef Prince was having issues with his throat being sore, and had asked him to prepare smoothies and juices that would help go down easily.

The last meal he prepared for Prince was still in the fridge after he died. Chef went back to the Paisley Park compound and found it in the fridge where he left it all wrapped up for Prince to eat.

Sad. The being in the elevator part still sits on my mind. If he was in emergency then why get on the elevator instead of ringing someone? Either he thought tit wasn't bad or it hit quick.

Fentanyl is bad stuff and dangerous.

Great for people in chronic and severe pain. But that shit will completely knock out your respiratory system.

When I did triage and someone called about over sedation, I always asked about Fentanyl.

Comes in all forms. Lozenges and lollipops.

Problem I always see is people put on the patches and still take high doses of other oral narcotics.

Next thing you know they are in respiratory distress.

Swedish Medical Center in Denver (where I've worked at before) is in trouble right now for hiring a surgical tech that was previously fired from several jobs and reprimanded in the Navy for diverting Fentanyl. Jerk is also HIV positive and has potentially infected unsuspecting patients.

Fentanyl abuse is real.

About 5 or 6 years ago when I was doing IT work for an outpatient pharmacy they had to set up a special filling station just for Fentanyl since it has become so frequently prescribed. They had a pharmacist just filling Fentanyl 'scripts 10 hours a day. Way over-prescribed...

Prince did not kill himself on purpose.

Prince's medication mislabeled
The newspaper cited a source who said the pills contained fentanyl -- the drug that killed the performer -- but were wrongly labeled as hydrocodone.
Thats some scary shit. i hope my hydro is always hydro. Ive even told my doctor that I dont want anything stronger and Ill never take fen no matter what.

Wow

I'm wondering if the mislabeling was because he somehow didn't obtain it legally?

To say that would be a mistake is an understatement.

CNN
Opioid painkillers -- some in prescription bottles with the name Kirk Johnson on them -- were found in several places in Paisley Park following Prince's death last year, court documents unsealed Monday showed.

Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg said he wrote an Oxycodone prescription for Prince under the name of Johnson, the singer's estate manager and longtime friend, for privacy purposes, according to a search warrant that was among the documents unsealed.

No one has been charged in connection with the superstar's death, but the details from the search warrants are beginning to show a clearer picture of the likely focus of the investigation -- which authorities say is still open and active.
...
According to a search warrant issued April 21, 2016, the same day Prince was found dead in his home in Chanhassen, Minnesota, investigators found several pills labeled "Watson 853" -- hydrocodone-acetaminophen, sometimes called Vicodin -- and capsules marked "A-349," which is Percocet, in different bottles in the residence. Also according to the search warrant, investigators were told by witnesses that Prince "recently had a history of going through withdrawals which are believed to be the result of abuse of prescription medication."
...
The medical examiner's office said Prince's death was the result of an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl. Last August, the Minneapolis Star Tribune quoted a source with knowledge of the investigation as saying that pills seized inside the compound by investigators were labeled as hydrocodone but actually contained fentanyl.

Authorities have said the investigation into Prince's death is criminal in nature. Federal prosecutors and the Drug Enforcement Administration are investigating how Prince obtained prescription medications and from whom.

Information in the warrants also revealed that investigators found a suitcase containing several prescription bottles in the name of Johnson, who told investigators last year that the singer had been struggling with opiate use.
...
The day before Prince died, his team called an eminent opioid addiction specialist in California seeking urgent help for the singer, an attorney working for the specialist and his son said.

The specialist, Dr. Howard Kornfeld, couldn't get there immediately so he sent his son, Andrew Kornfeld, on an overnight flight to Minnesota. The goal was for the younger Kornfeld to help evaluate Prince's health and encourage him to enter treatment for pain management and potential addiction issues, attorney William Mauzy told reporters.

But by the time Andrew Kornfeld arrived at the singer's Paisley Park complex on the morning of April 21, it was too late. He and two Prince representatives found the 57-year-old entertainer unresponsive in an elevator. Andrew Kornfeld was the person who called 911, Mauzy said.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

USA Today
Music superstar Prince died two years ago because he thought he was taking the common painkiller Vicodin when, unbeknownst to him, it was laced with deadly fentanyl, authorities said Thursday.
...
Just short of two years after Prince's death, Metz announced that no one will be charged with a crime in connection with his death because there's no evidence showing how he got fake Vicodin laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 50 times stronger than heroin, and no evidence he knew that's what it was.

Metz, the top prosecutor in the suburban Minneapolis county that is home to Prince's studio/home complex Paisley Park, told reporters the results of a "painstaking and thorough" two-year investigation found that Prince did not know he had become addicted to fentanyl and neither did anyone around him.

"To actively charge a crime requires probable cause and a reasonable likelihood of conviction. The bottom line is that we simply do not have sufficient evidence to charge anyone with a crime related to Prince's death," Metz said.

Metz said there was no evidence that the counterfeit pills, laced with fentanyl and found at Prince's home, were prescribed by a doctor.

"There is no reliable evidence showing how Prince got (fentanyl) or who else had a role in delivering it to him," Metz said.
...
More than 100 white capsules labeled "Watson 853" — like Vicodin, a mixture of acetaminophen and hydrocodone, a prescription drug classified as a narcotic — were hidden in Aleve and Bayer aspirin bottles and found in numerous rooms inside Paisley Park. CVS prescription bottles under Johnson's name were found in the dressing room and mirror room; each bottle contained several different kinds of controlled substances.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Wrong is a harsh way to phrase it. Your opinion is clouded by nostalgia. It's understandable. It's possible that we just have subjective differences in the voices we prefer to hear, but I doubt it.

No, I agree that there's no subjectivity here. It's an objective fact that Sinead's version is better than Cornell. Have you thought about seeing a doctor to determine what is wrong with your hearing?
