This just moved into my watch list....
It is true. We are close to polar opposites when it comes to tv and film. Day Shift will probably become your favorite movie on Netflix. :D
Watched this last night with the wife.
We both enjoyed it for what it was, which was more or less what we expected.
Some decent kills. Some punny dialogue.

I remember people arguing over who did what in that final scene. I personally thought it was pretty clear. An interview with the people behind the show confirmed that to be the case.

I liked it, personally.

Oh yeah, I thought the ending was almost perfect.

Honestly don’t recall there being any ambiguity at all as to ‘who did what’ - I’m surprised to hear that.

That’s too bad. It was a silly show but we really need more shows with scenes of Lance Riddick in an Olive Garden for the first time.

Oh, It was pretty clear alright, given who we see last. I just didn't like the way the conclusion was written.

As I’m a firm believer that all shows should end with the main character waking up next to a Suzanne Pleshette lookalike and revealing the entire thing was just a dream, I was also disappointed.

Watched the first episode of Echoes last night.

Very interesting premise, tho I'm not sure I'm in the mood for a show where I don't know if I want to root for anyone. Probably best to go in cold tho, don't even watch the trailers, and then stick it out for the 1st episode and decide for yourself.

I certainly am! I like the whole post apocalyptic grimdark theme and all but I also appreciate good old silliness. And when you mix the two together... :tjg:

Finished Dorohedoro last night. It was an excellent anime series that was alternately touching, gross, hilarious, exciting, and so, so incredibly weird. To give you a sense, the main character's head has been turned into a lizard by a sorcerer's spell. In order to reverse the spell, he has to find sorcerers and put their head into his mouth, where there is a man who emerges from the back of his throat and declares "You are not the one".
That all happens in the first 10 minutes.

The world it created was bizzare but exceptionally well-crafted and every episode was a feast for the senses. My only very minor gripe is that it just sort of stops without a resolution to literally anything. It's really weird, I honestly thought that I was missing an episode somehow.

7/8 tentacles, really fun show.

I’m surprised I’m actually enjoying this. I think it all comes down to the actors and the writers taking the time to establish the important relationships in the story. As mentioned elsewhere, it’s a paper thin story. But it’s a surprisingly well done paper thin story Even if some of the larger battles are pretty ridiculous.

I'm 3 episodes into MONSTER: THE JEFFREY DAHMER STORY on Netflix, and it's been absolutely riveting so far.

I've always been a huge Evan Peters fan from his work on American Horror Story, and he's brilliantly creepy here as Dahmer. There's also a stellar performance by the great Richard Jenkins as Dahmer's dad.

It's often very hard to watch, as it never shies away from depicting Dahmer's depravity. But this is offset by the tremendous performances and narrative style, which deftly switches back and forth between Dahmer's early years and the peak of his killing.

I highly recommend a series called Magic for Humans. Assuming it's real it is really interesting.

Yap. I burned through all of the seasons pretty quickly.

Man, Kleo is such a wild and weird show. I can't decide if I like it or not. The reveal at the end kind of made me wonder if I should pick it back up if it gets renewed. It's the kind of reveal that can be deflating, rather than exciting.

I enjoyed Mr. Harrigan's Phone. A SK novella well suited for adaptation. It's a slow paced chiller drama. It stuck well to the novella as far as I recall. It's not an awesome movie, but I thought it was a good one.
