Did you truly expect a four-faction game with unique roles and rules to not require much attention?

With a hiss of ozone, Remus West's cryo pod unlocks and opens up.
"We get the warhead and we hold the world ransom for... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!"
"Oops, wrong game."
Remus is no longer cryo locked and has rejoined the game.

Re: Starship R. Scott III - Liftoff!
What was the decision on Alien versus Locked pod?The Alien Organism has to ability to kill or implant an alien egg in human beings turning them into hosts. The alien player only has two eggs. However, the process is time consuming and can only be performed during the course correction when the humans are incapacitated in their cryo pods. The alien organism can not attack players in a locked down cryo pod.
Is it a "protection" or Invalid Target?

More honestly, I still haven't even read the rules because the first thing that happened was I got locked down. I'll read the rules today at some point and try and decide what to do after that.

So since we know that Remus wasn't the alien, that means that the alien planted a seed since there was no night kill, right? Or that the alien tried to impregnate Remus.

We have the usual first-day kill problem, but it's doubled. We've got to pick a lynch, but I'm also likely to be killed by the alien tonight, so my gun will be lost unless I fire it today.
We don't really have a protector, do we? The symbiont could lock me down, but I can't see why he would want to keep a marine alive.
How do we decide, people? Do we take our chances with *two* random Day One kills?

Re: Starship R. Scott III - Liftoff!
Looking over the rules, in order to win, this is going to be a game of mass carnage. We only have 6 days, 12 people, and unless we get majorly lucky, there will be 1 Alien and 2 infected (1 infected already). The infected will not even know they are infected so it is not like we can look for some kind of potential mistake in their posts. Therefore locating and killing the infected is going to be pure luck.Holman wrote:We have the usual first-day kill problem, but it's doubled. All this being said, I agree with Holman's assessment, he should kill someone before the Alien kills him and takes away his ability. This being day 1, and the fact that we will never know who the infected is, pull a name out of a hat and announce it (we don't want to kill our hacker). The only person I would not shoot is RW today. However tomorrow he could be infected, so he is fair game then. Once you take your kill shot, then we have to lynch someone.

Re: Starship R. Scott III - Liftoff!
12 Holman Shot
11 Lynch
10 Another infected
10 Day 2
Considering RW and Holman are out of the question for the shot and the lynch, that gives us a 20% shot of hitting either the Alien or the infected day 1.

Re: Starship R. Scott III - Game Full
Yeah, but there's two of them. Surely they're not sharing one gun between them, as they shouldn't know who each other are Holman doesn't know who the other is.El Guapo wrote:Damn gun control laws have gotten out of hand in the dystopian future.Scoop20906 wrote:Remember they can only use their fire gun one time the whole game.Holman wrote:So the marines (between them) get one kill a day?
Seems like there will be a race to post the kill order every morning.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Holman gets a shot and the other marine gets a shot and they can't do it on the same day. That's the way I understand it.

I guess that makes sense, though I'm still figuring out the rules.bb2112 wrote:Looking over the rules, in order to win, this is going to be a game of mass carnage. We only have 6 days, 12 people, and unless we get majorly lucky, there will be 1 Alien and 2 infected (1 infected already). Therefore locating and killing the infected is going to be pure luck.Holman wrote:We have the usual first-day kill problem, but it's doubled. We don't really have a protector, do we? The symbiont could lock me down, but I can't see why he would want to keep a marine alive.
How do we decide, people? Do we take our chances with *two* random Day One kills?
All this being said, I agree with Holman's assessment, he should kill someone before the Alien kills him and takes away his ability. This being day 1, and the fact that we will never know who the infected is, pull a name out of a hat and announce it (we don't want to kill our hacker). The only person I would not shoot is RW today. However tomorrow he could be infected, so he is fair game then. Once you take your kill shot, then we have to lynch someone.
More broadly, in terms of the kill shot and the lynch today - our primary goal is to kill the alien and any hosts, right? Then after that, the secondary goal of any of the human sub-factions is to kill members of the other sub-factions (Marine Guards and Engineers want to kill hackers and convicts, and vice versa), right? But as of today, we have no information on who is the alien (or who may be a host), EXCEPT that we know that Remus is not the alien, not a host, and not the hacker (due to the lockdown), and we know that Holman is a guard, and therefore not the hacker, but could also be a host, right?
So for Holman's shot, assuming that there's no reason to not take it today, the target is pretty much anyone who is not Remus or Holman, right? And for the lynch it's anyone other than Remus, and probably not Holman unless there's some reason to think he's the host. Is that about right?

Wait, wait, I had thought that the scan came before the alien, but I think apparently not? I was confused because the hacker order comes before the alien order in the boilerplate, but (once I read down) the night sequence shows the alien order coming before the hacker.Course Correction Boilerplate:
Computer Hacker: Which player's cryo pod medical report will you decrypt?
Symbiont: Will you lock down a player's cryo pod?
Alien: Who will you attempt to kill OR who will you attempt to implant an egg into?
All Course Correction Play orders must be in before the hard deadline, or forfeit.
Night Sequence of Resolution:
Symbiont order is processed.
Alien's order is processed.
Computer Hacker's medical report is decrypted.
SO, we do know (I'm pretty sure) that Holman is not infected. So the shot would be [NOT Remus or Holman] and the lynch would be [NOT Remus or Holman] as well.
Right?
So any reason to vote, or should I just wait around for Holman to shoot someone?
