The Doctor Who one off drama, "An Adventure in Space & Time", based on the early years of the show, is currently free. It's the seventh "episode" listed:

https://amazon.com/An-Adventure-in-Space-Time/dp/B00G21YLF6

For some reason, OO won't link to the page. But the url is above.

Edit: Google Play also has it available for free, if you prefer that.

Looks like the promo code "JUNEBINGE" will give you a free month of CBS All Access. If it's like their other codes, it'll probably work even if you've already gotten a free month in the past.

If you have Amazon Prime, for the next few days you can get subscriptions to the Showtime and Starz video channels, each for 99 cents/month for the next two months (when those subscriptions will go back up to normal price, so you'll probably want to cancel them before then).

Lots of classic films from the 40s through the 60s in HD or 4K, Pick 3 for $10.

Requires a free moviesanywhere account (which you can link to Itunes/vudu/Amazon/etc accounts and have port to them):

Not sure if this link will work, but the S8 of the Game of Thrones is only $15, right now (historically I think it's been closer to $25, which is kinda bonkers for 6 episodes.

It had been $7 for the complete bundle, although I guess this was a mistake and they fixed it.

For anyone with Prime, there are some Prime Day specials active already, including some Prime Channels that are currently available for $0.99 per month for two months (you can cancel before the end of the second month to avoid the normal subscription cost): EPIX, PBS Masterpiece, PBS Documentaries, History Vault, Sundance Now and a bunch of others.

Scream Factory's Shocktober sale is going on, and it's a doozy. In the past their sales have sometimes just brought the MSRP closer to Amazon's price, but this year is a true blowout. Tons of collector's editions and boxed sets 50% off.

Free shipping on orders over $50.

FYI: Vudu has a 50's movies for $5 sale. Although there are lots of good classic movies, the most notable items are the UHD versions of Vertigo and Rear Window for $5.

Among it's other holiday sales, Vudu has a Veronica Mars bundle. All four seasons plus the movie for $20, which is an excellent price for an excellent series.

That's cool, but I'm having trouble envisioning someone with that many points who doesn't already subscribe to Disney+. :)

That would be me.

I was eventually going to try it for a month or two at some point (I rotate through streaming services for a month or two - whatever's got a discount/promotion), but this made it an easy choice.

Various Disney Movies are $4.99 (on Amazon Video, Vudu, Itunes), including the Pirates of Caribbean movies, the National Treasure movies, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Rocketeer among others. Often, Disney movies are overpriced (eg, $18 for HD versions)

Also worth DisneyMovieInsider points, if you have an account there and have it connected.

Amazon Video has Cowboy Bebop Complete Series for $4.99 in HD. Edit: Looks like the Japanese version is available seperately, and also $4.99.

The high ratings (8.9 on IMDB) have me intrigued, even though I generally avoid anime.

Lumping anime together is like lumping all US animation together. Bugs Bunny isn’t a Disney film isn’t Rick & Morty isn’t Axe Cop.

If you like jazz and noir space westerns, you’ll like Cowboy Bebop.

I've seen just enough to know that. I liked Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Alchemist, plus... no, that's all I've seen that I've been able to get through. One of these days I keep meaning to find more... approachable stuff that isn't just underwear fetishes and intentionally bad acting wrapped around storylines so abstract or based in Japanese cultural knowledge that they're impenetrable. But Bebop was good.

there are numerous anime recommendation threads on this board, but it is worth repeating: pretty much anything Studio Ghibli - i've seen a lot of anime over the years and it's hard to beat their filmography. i have a particular liking for the 'everyday drama' ones (Whisper of the Heart, Only Yesterday, Ocean Waves, From Up on Poppy Hill, The Wind Rises) - go for original Japanese dialogue with English subtitles.

see When Marnie Was There if only for the amount of visual detail in the interior scenes.

and i would highly, highly recommend Grave of the Fireflies
