I also make the best corned beef hash...it consists of not only the leftover corned beef and potatoes, but cabbage and carrots. My wife said he favorite part of my corned beef dinners is the breakfast the next day.

She's Filipino. These are some of their foods:

Atchara - a sweet pickled papaya relish.
Bagoong - fermented anchovy paste or shrimp paste
Banana ketchup

Lechon sauce - also known as liver sauce or breadcrumb sauce made out of ground liver or liver pâté, vinegar, sugar, and spices

It's everything from the pot the corned beef is cooked in, diced and fried in butter. What is horrific about that? It has a shit ton more flavor than the crap from the can.

Their idea of corned beef is what's horrific. It comes in a can and resembles spam. I made the mistake once of ordering it for breakfast at their most popular fast food restaurant.

I've never been arrested, although I have been detained and have sat in a cop car(not the front seat either).

Etymology time!!!!

"Corn" originally meant a small, hard particle of some kind (such as salt), and was freely translated back and fort with the Latin granum (which gives us "grain").

So, yeah: salted. It's also why "corn" often meant what we now call "wheat" in European history before the European discovery of maize ("Indian corn").
