One thing I didn't pick up on was the commentary about Sally's show and how the streaming algorithm said if a show has someone eating dessert within the first two minutes of the episode it will be a hit.

Yes, they've been doing a good job of playing with visuals. The car conversation from this week's episode (with Fuches) and the way it ended was hilarious.

I’m beginning to suspect this season is mostly in Barry’s head. There’s some really odd things happening that are even too surreal/out of the blue for this show.

Re: [HBO] Barry
The most recent episode definitely had bits that took place in Barry's head but I think the rest is real life - or at least real-Barry-life in a world where Ronny/Lilly exist.
I love this show so much. The chase in 710N was incredible and I really dig the decision to have no soundtrack but just focus on the sounds of the bike. The sound design in the lane-splitting sequence should win someone an Emmy.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Very intense episode. Hell of a way to end the season.

Re: [HBO] Barry
It would actually be a perfect ending to the series. It wraps up almost everything, in a way. But I know a season 4 is coming, so I’m curious where they’ll go now.
Also, as I’m watching Hader giving such a masterful performance, I have to remind myself this is the same guy who played Stefon on SNL

The final season starts on 4/16/23
Don't even think about watching that trailer if you're not current on the series.

I think I just saw the first season or two. Haven't had HBO in a while, and these days do not have time to binge a series.

Best show on TV. I'm a little sad it's the last season but 4 seasons is probably plenty.

Yeah, it did feel like it could have been an ending for sure. But it also sounds like they had something else in mind - and I can't wait to see it.

Re: [HBO] Barry
So...uh, yeah. Barry is back and that was one hell of a two-episode premiere. Not going to spoiler anything, just an informal bump if you didn't realize S4 started last night.
Also, NoHo Hank's fashion choice this week is off the charts. He's genuinely one of my favorite characters ever.

Re: [HBO] Barry
I just wish the actor playing NoHo (Anthony Carrigan) would get bigger parts outside Barry, damn it. He's still doing small roles in mostly tv and direct to video stuff. The man is a talent, people!

Why didn't you guys tell me about this? We're 4 episodes and really enjoying it. It's not like anything we normally watch, which is probably part of the charm.

Re: [HBO] Barry
This should be enough to convince anyone that Barry is great.
(season 3, episode 4....mild spoilers)
Warning: the show starts off as a full on comedy, for the most part. But as it goes on it adds Breaking Bad levels of drama and tragedy. That doesn't replace the comedy, mind you. It just adds a lot of pathos to said comedy. And depth. A buttload of depth.

1 episode behind Izzy. My wife really only cares to watch one episode a night no matter how interesting things are getting. I am doing my very best to be a good boy and not rush ahead of her.

If this is Witness Protection, I'll take my chances. That family life is hell.

I don't think they're in witness protection. I think they're on the run. Barry broke out of prison and, from what anyone could tell, helped kill a ton of federal agents. I don't think he'd get any sort of deal in those circumstances.

Zarathud: The sad thing is that Barak Obama is a very intelligent and articulate person, even when you disagree with his views it's clear that he's very thoughtful. I would have loved to see Obama in a real debate.
Me: Wait 12 years, when he runs for president. :-)

Someone pointed out that you can only truly make an episode like that if you were raised rural Catholic in a flyover state.

Regardless, A+ episode. The whole NoHo side story was hilarious.
