Just brutal.
Yeah the league needs some work. Not only are the rules squirrely but the refs suck on the regular. The game is goofy/random enough and the 'best' team almost never wins the Cup. 'Muricans don't much care for sports like that to begin with; you add in shit officiating that makes results even more wonky and you risk losing even more of us.
Not sure whether people are still watching, but another badly blown call helped decide Game 5 of the finals.
The guy that did it was even about to argue with the refs before he realized he wasn't getting called for it. Really bad blown call.

I do get, in some ways, wanting to let the boys play and decide playoff games for themselves.

However, that was a really terrible miss, and the fact that it's not the first really terrible miss in these playoffs is unfortunate.

I do hope that the NHL doesn't go way down the replay rabbit hole as a result, though. The game doesn't need to be slowed down any more than current replay already does.

Here he is, about to complain about the whistle that never came:

But you know, us Red Wings fans are always complaining about calls in he playoffs. It was probably ok.

Prediction: 2-1 Blues in OT. Jaden Schwartz with the GWG. Controversy: Bruins have apparent GWG (regulation) reversed after an offside challenge.

That's a little vague. Who gets the secondary assist on the Blues first goal?

Also, who was offside?

Much better choice. MHS points out that nine months from now expect a lot of kids named Jordan and Gloria born in the greater STL area hospitals.

Glad there was no refereeing shitshow to tarnish the game, but this will not be a Game 7 to be remembered. Glad for the outcome, but it was a bit of a slog. Binnington's saves are the obvious highlights. (And Marchand saving himself for Game 8 on that second goal. He _did_ manage to get off the ice before eating the -1. Total veteran move.)

Gloriaous.

Well, I'm glad at least that a team that hadn't won before won it all.

And I know we're all sad that a Boston team didn't win another championship, but if we stick together I think we'll manage to get through this in time.

I was a bit bummed for Chara but then I remembered he already has a cup and then I thought of Ray Borque and how he never got one in Boston and I was once again just fine with St. Louis winning.

They had an interim coach.
They had no Stanley cups on their roster.
They were last in January.
They won 10 of 13 games on the road. Including Winnipeg, San Jose.
3 in Boston.
2 in San Jose.
2 in Dallas.
3 in Winnipeg.

Boston lost, the only start that matters really.

If I read the graphic right last night, Binnington also won his 16th playoff start as a rookie. Beating out Patrick Roy and about 5 or 6 other players who were at 15.

So that's good too (F you, Roy; sorry about the others who got bumped).
