Didn't see it, but the current single they have out there is "Mr. Brightside" I believe.

Their entire album is pretty darn good. The first four tracks are a parade of greatness that makes purchasing their album more than worthwhile.

I don't know what to make of them. The two singles I've heard remind me of an 80's band. It also has a very "OC" feel to it (like it belongs on the TV show, "The O.C."). Odd.

I picked up the album a couple months ago after I heard them playing some of the songs on XM. I like it. Not one of the very best albums I own, but a nice solid one.

Back to The Killers, though, I actually really like them. They have an 80s feel to them and with me being the 80s freak that I am, that can only be a good thing. It makes me wonder if there will be a whole retro 80s movement in music to follow. That would be awesome if some rappers went old school and did the human beat box stuff again. Anyway, it would be nice if new wave made a comeback.

I'm seeing the Killers tonight, actually.

And speaking of concerts, I saw Audioslave last night. In general, I think they are only so-so (and the tix were free), BUT, they did some Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden stuff. The Rage stuff was really, really cool.

Tom Morello is phenomenal to watch.

Not only will there be a 80's retro movement in music, but it has already arrived!

the killers first single was called "somebody told me" if i recall correctly, and was pretty upbeat. not a bad song, and if i had the disc with me at work, i'd play it.

I really like The Killers. Hot Fuss is a staple on my mp3 player. It's just a fun album.

Ya, I gotta chime in as saying I like the Killers too. They're on my upbeat mix with Franz Ferdinand, Muse, The Clarks, The Thrills and some other assorted odds and ends. I think the album has a lot of energy and quite a few of the tunes are hummable - Midnight Show and Believe Me Natalie for two (in addition to the other ones mentioned).

an 80's feel ... hmm .. yeah, that must be why I kind of like them. I'll give some more of their stuff a listen. If new wave starts making a comeback, maybe I'll start listening to modern (post-2000) music again.

I enjoy The Killers too. I like the album alot. It's not fatastic, but it's very good and shows potential. Mr. Brightside is one of the best singles in a long time though, that song is fantastic.

To me The Killers have a bit of early Duran Duran in them.

I am liking the whole new New Wave scene that's going on right now.

I really don't like the Killers, maybe it is because when I listened to it with my girlfriend they became her new favorite ban ever and every chacne she has she listens to them, while I started out as pretty indifferent towards them.

Let me rephrase, now I fucking hate the Killers and I want to kill them. So why do I have tickets to their show in Spokane?

Well the local alt rock station here plays The Killers over and over and over. I like them as well, but both those singles have gotten overkilled for me. Arcade Fire hasn't gotten any air however.

With all of the synth and vocal effects I thought they would be a studio band that would suck live. I was surprised by how good they sounded on Leno the other night. The band played well and the lead singer, Brandon Flowers (ack that's his real name), did a great job with the vocals and synth. I've heard some studio bands sound like absolute crap on Leno and SnL, but these guys seem to be the real deal.

You can really tell that Brandon Flowers was influenced heavily by the unique vocal stylings of Robert Smith (The Cure) and Morrisey, which they confirm in the bio section of their site.

Mr. Brightside just celebrated its 200th week in the U.K. Top 100.

I remember when liking this song made me feel like I was keeping up with the musical tastes of the youngs.

The 80s retro moment started at least 10 years ago. We are into 90s retro now.

Soon music will pass from current to retro without ever leaving the charts.
