So the Raiders are two and two. They overall looked better than I've seen them in a long time, although I didn't see last week's game.

No, I think 2-2 must be right. Results for games played outside the US don't count, right?

The Redskins are a dumpster fire of a franchise who pulled off the epic dick move of making Jay Gruden come in at 5 AM this morning to fire him.

They wanted him to enjoy the rest of his day. Doesn't he still get paid for doing nothing? That's the kind of shitty day I wouldn't mind.

He does, but that's not how these guys are wired. And there's the whole blow-to-the-ego thing of not getting to finish what you started. I'm not sure he deserved to keep his job, but how they let him go is pretty bad.

That's so Gruden would get stuck in morning commuter traffic when the firing was done as a final twist of the knife.

It's definitely a dick move, but isn't Gruden long-term better off getting fired this way? That way the story becomes "Asshole Snyder fires Gruden at 5 am" intead of "Gruden fired following 0-5 start to season".

One does wonder if Snyder could figure that out though.

Yeah, I don't really see the big deal about the 5 AM thing. I think many NFL head coaches probably get to the office around that time anyway during the season.

That's what I figured. It's worse letting the guy go on with his day wasting his time when the decision has been made.

now that was a beat down. Running game was on point, won't be next week due to our FB being hurt. Defensive line was a monster, and Bosa had his coming out party. Guess he didn't like that stunt Mayfield did in college...

i think it was more of the niners not giving him anytime to throw or get comfortable. Brown's Oline couldn't stop the rush. From looking at him it seems that the niners and Bosa got inside his head when he did have time.

Considering the dumpster fire that is the Redskins' front office, it's a big deal to show how callous they continue to be (see the Trent Williams saga) and how out of touch they are with what actually makes a winning franchise.

Again, how is it possibly less shitty to allow someone to work a portion of their day when the decision has been made to terminate them?

So they should fire him at 3AM or something? At some point you need to give a person a little respect.

 What was in the water in Minnesota??

Also, the Pats were down to one personnel grouping on offense for much of the fourth quarter because of all the injuries. I'm glad there are 10 days until the next game and hope they can get at least a couple people healthy.

It's disrespectful to assume that just because you start at 3AM everyone else does. At any rate, you do wonder where fired Gruden will end up.

No, if the coach starts at 3 am, why not fire him at 3 am? I doubt the executive doing the hatchet job normally works those kind of hours. Football coaches are notorious for keeping crazy hours; likely reviewing lots of tape before an AAR meeting later in the morning with the entire team.

Eagles
Before their game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zach Brown remarked that inconsistent quarterback Kirk Cousins was the "weakest part of the offense."

One day after Cousins and the Vikings put up 38 points and 447 total yards on Brown's Eagles defense in a landslide victory, the linebacker is no longer a part of the team.

The Eagles announced that they cut Brown on Monday.
