Ruggs of the Raiders quite possible done for his life as well:
Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III will be charged with DUI resulting in death after his involvement in a fatal car crash this morning in Las Vegas. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

I'm sensitive to this due to some personal experiences and think we have to wait for the legal process to play out before knowing what actually happened here.

Me too. did you see the photo down thread? Horrifying and my heart goes out to everyone. And yes, I do have sympathy for a young man who killed someone because he was drunk as well, not as much as for the victim, but living with the idea that you killed someone? Horrifying as well. I couldn't do it.

I would say we're not even sure he was drunk. What the cops say immediately after something like this is not always true once a full investigation is completed.

Dunno if BAC results are in, but:
Prosecutor Eric Bauman said Ruggs was traveling at 156 mph about 2 seconds before the crash. He was at 127 mph when airbags deployed.

It's also not beyond the realm of possibility that he simply thought he was immunized and assumed it would be so.

I think it's pretty clear that he should be forced out of the league and the Packers excluded from next year's draft.

It's only fair.

ESPN
The Las Vegas Raiders released wide receiver Henry Ruggs III on Tuesday night following his involvement in a vehicle crash earlier in the morning that left a woman dead.
...
The Raiders, who do offer car services for players who might need them and have a player engagement program that warns players of such risks, didn't wait for the courts to act, sending out a brief statement Tuesday night announcing Ruggs' release. The Raiders had issued a statement earlier in the day saying the team was aware of the crash, "devastated by the loss of life,'' and "in the process of gathering information.''
It's almost as if people are the problem.

I would love to see Jordan Love knock it out of the park after Rodgers lambasted his own organization for planning for exactly such a contingency.

I guess everyone loves a winner. Otherwise you'd think he'd be poison. Basically getting the entire organization to bow to his whims with no respect given back to anyone or anything. Probably costing the team home field advantage in the playoffs. Unless Love wins...

Yeah, pregame. There’s apparently some sort of documentary that’s coming out next month that he’s involved in. I only caught the end of a segment with Peyton and had to do a double-take to make sure it was actually Madden.

The Aaron Rodgers interview with Pat McAfee this afternoon is really something. Thread below, including that Rodgers is taking advice from Joe Rogan, ranting about cancel culture, is taking Ivermectin, and comparing himself to MLK.

He is in the crosshairs and he put himself there. He misled the world and then proceeded to ignore the regulations established by the NFL and NFLPA, no matter how arbitrary they may be. He did it when many of his fellow players followed the rules they agreed to.

So yeah, 4 game suspension no pay for Rodgers and 1st round draft pick if the Packers never got his proof of vaccination and let him get away with it. This is more of flagrant fuck you than was deflate gate.

Edit: That's to Rodgers, not OBJ. I don't have an opinion on OBJ other than I wouldn't want him on my team.

Also the joke I heard is Rodgers heard getting the vaccine was to protect his family, so he wanted no part of it.

Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but I'll admit I didn't have Aaron Rogers whining about woke mobs and getting cancelled on my anti-vaxxer bingo card.

I've always thought that while he's fun to watch, he seems like a smarmy douche. This pretty much solidifies that opinion.

You may remember that Brady believed there was a special water that could prevent him from getting concussions. I don't think it has to do with too many hits to the head. I think it has to do with being so good at your position for so long and believing that you have the secret and that that translates to other parts of life.

So it is possible to score a single point. Theoretically, however unlikely, you could have a 6 - 1 final score.

Yeah, that thread (and the interview) really is something. You have to hand it to him for starting out with the statement that he's a critical thinker, then disproving that notion in every. single. successive. comment. (At least the ones that made it into the tweet thread--I only watched the 5:57 clip; can't spare time for a whole interview of such bullshit.)

I was reacting to:
Due to the unique nature of how points are scored in (American) Football, where it is impossible to score 1 point on its own...
I guess you could say "not on its own" is confusing since you can end up with a single point.
