I guess you could say "not on its own" is confusing since you can end up with a single point.
You (meaning 'a team') can, but 1 point cannot be scored on its own (one or the other team must first score 6 points).

Which is why 7-1 is not (presently) a possible score.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Disappointed is really too mild of a term. The scumbag should be expelled from the league and all of his accomplishments stricken from the historical record. All of his wins should be forfeit back to day one.

I'm pretty sure ILB is in agreement on this.

I assume that’s just CHI fan nonsense. At the risk of quoting the devil, “relax”.

At the end of the day, Rodgers got COVID and will miss one or two games and that will be that (the same outcome as the other 100+ players that have turned up COVID positive).

He’s a smarmy douche, and has always been a smarmy douche. And when it comes to this situation, he’s an absolute dunce. I think he’s an idiot.

That said, literally nothing will happen to him. He didn’t break any laws. He might have to pay fines. He’s not getting suspended. It’s not like he drunk drove into the back of an innocent woman’s car at 127 mph causing her and her dog to burn to death.

He didn’t get vaccinated, and he’s got to miss playing in a game of football.

I do hope they fine Rodgers and the Packers. They put others at risk by ignoring the accepted protocols.

The problem is that both the Packers and the NFL were clearly aware of what was going on. I find it unlikely that the NFL will discipline itself.

I mean, we are sitting here in a week where an NFL player was driving around with a BAC twice the legal limit, with a loaded gun, and rammed into the back of some innocent woman at 127mph, burning that woman and her dog to death.

And here we are with people losing their shit because a different football player wasn't honest about taking a vaccine, and several months later he tested positive and will miss a football game.

Or maybe we can talk about all the hoopla at the trading deadline about a team possibly trading for a player accused of sexually assaulting 20+ women.

One player released, one player not playing, probably because of union restraints but he is still being paid and he has not been charged with anything to date, and another player who violated both NFL and union rules, and whose team and maybe the league were complicit. Other teams have been fined so it’s not unusual if they do it.

Vax-gate. We definitely need to see his phone and get a tick-tock of events. If he fights it, the league should depose everyone and then release a statement that was prepared today ignoring anything said in the depositions that might be in conflict with said statement. A 4-game suspension is a minimum. If he agrees not to sue, 2 games would be acceptable.

I think we're talking about it because it had the potential of not just effecting him. He said he was for bodily autonomy during that McAffe interview, but then he acted in a way that took it away from everyone who didn't know his secret. Those reporters were in the room with the understanding of the rules the NFL had put in place and had, at least at some level, agreed to take whatever risks that created. By flouting the rules and lying about it, he took away their informed consent. I know the NFL won't suspend him because consistency is not their strong suit, but he should absolutely be shunned as a liar and coward.

Definitely an any given Sunday:

Broncos crush the Cowboys
Giants beat the Raiders
Jags beat the Bills
Titans spank the Rams

At least the Chargers are learning clock management. Used up the last 6 minutes for a game winning field goal with 5 seconds left. So many times I saw Rivers score too soon and rely on the defense to make a stop. Almost never worked.

I assume that was supposed to be a joke. Not sure bringing politics into it is funny; or what being vaccinated would have to do with his running rampant through the other team. I possibly would have laughed at a comment about checking the kid for steroids. Or maybe something about age.

One thing I like about early youth sports is how one kid with a consistent elite skill becomes a star. Like that kid has the stiff arm down, and so no one's able to tackle him.

Oooh, I like this idea. The Packers should forfeit all of their draft picks as long as Rodgers remains alive.

Speaking of self-centered douche, Rodgers was Favre's understudy and turned out okay (well, perhaps better than OK, but as a Bears fan, I am not qualified to comment on QB excellence). Jordan Love is Rodger's understudy and yesterday was a hot mess. Who's to blame for that?

Have the refs been paid off in this Bears/Steelers game? Jesus, what an embarrassment.

FWIW I am completely ambivalent about the teams playing, though if pushed I guess I would be ever so slightly biased towards the Steelers bc I like the cut of Mike Tomlin’s jib.

And yeah. The refs were a joke. That taunting call was just total garbage , to name one of them.

Watch the replay from the other angle, it was like 10 yards short. :)

My son thought it hit the crossbar on the first shot, but it was an illusion (Michael…).

As for the taunting call. The taunting rule is 99% garbage. And that 1% is only because I understand that taunting leads to fights and they want to reduce fights. But 99% garbage.

But it’s the rule. And by the rule, if you walk toward the opponents bench while glaring (which is what he was doing) - you are playing with fire. Which is why his coach was yelling at him. It’s bullshit. But it’s easily solved by not walking towards your opponents bench and glaring at them. Walk towards your bench and scream like a lunatic with your teammates, and there won’t be a flag.

Maybe one of the most convincing optical illusions I’ve seen in a televised game: I was absolutely sure the ball hit the crossbar when it was shown live.

Also, while the taunting call was bs, what about the multiple late hit no-calls?! Those were the worst imo.

It must have fooled the announcer too because he called it as hitting the crossbar and bouncing back. That's the way I saw it too.

I think the illusion is because it hit the logo in the end zone which is also yellow and in a way that the camera angle had that point of ground at the crossbar level.

Edit - alternate views are at 10:23 in that vid.
