I don't think they have dirt. I think she is a *snake*. She always has been. Always will be.

Yup.

She hides behind a facade of moderation, but every step she takes is about gaining a GOP majority where she can serve as the Manchin/Sinema.

I guess that's why I'm confused. Voting party line (while pretending you're concerned about it) is one thing. Actively campaigning for someone in another state? Maybe I'm just following PA closer because it's local-ish news for me, but this seems...odd.

Not just another state but in another state to support someone whose snakeoil sales celebrity nose is firmly planted in celebrity snakeoil sales Trump's ass and demonstrable out of touch idiot to boot.

Right? Who in PA is thinking, "You know, I wasn't going to vote for Oz but now that GOP superstar Susan Collins has indicated he's a fighter, I'm going to make sure I get down to the voting booth and cast my ballot in person to avoid fraudcrimes!"

Texas 26th District.

So, effectively unopposed for my 20-year incumbent.

Oh, and the state made sure to carve out anyone in Denton that might have Democratic leanings and lumped them in with the panhandle counties around Amarillo.

With no drama whatsoever, Mass. is about to become a one-party state. The Republicans nominated trumpers, which is tantamount to surrendering in a state where trump is less popular than cancer. Dems will soon have all of the state offices and supermajorities in both houses. I wish we could just raise the drawbridge and add more alligators to the moat.

That's actually a list of where the GOP is going to scream fraud.

It's definitely interesting to see this all unfold. I want to believe the "Red Wave in 2022" is really just the new George Costanza influenced policy of the GOP - "it's not a lie if you believe it." And if they keep repeating it, people will just need to accept it.

I think Democrats almost always perform very well in early voting, then (with some state-by-state variation) Republicans do well on voting day, and then it comes down to which effect outweighs the other.

Also - how seriously do we take Simon Rosenberg? I've only seen him pop up lately, and his stuff seems a little shaky so far. For example, Ralston calling NV for Cortez Masto raised an eyebrow, because Ralston is one of the premier experts on NV politics / elections so I take him seriously. I headed over to Ralston's twitter feed - last night he predicted that CM holds on in a squeaker. But he certainly didn't call NV for CM (nor is it plausible that he could based only on early voting).

It is comforting that he thinks so, but saying that CM wins in a squeaker is probably akin to saying that she has a ~ 60% chance of winning.

That's certainly fair - I don't know the guy from Adam. But it can't be all bad news around here.

Yeah, I don't mean to be all doom and gloom. And it is good that Ralston is predicting that CM will win! He is one of the leading NV experts, so that's a good sign (especially since it's hard to see how the Dems hold the Senate if she loses). I'm just saying that it's very misleading to say that he "called" NV for CM. And that in turn leads me to be a little skeptical of his other assertions.

All close races are national now.

Yeah. I read through that stuff by Rosenberg, and it did not compute. I think it's wishful thinking, sadly.

Also, listening to The Daily today on the Fetterman/Oz race was truly depressing. I think we're looking at a Senator Dr. Oz. What an abomination, PA!

To a Texas REP, are the LIBs more or less Lib than the DEMs?

Your LIB got a bigger share of the votes than the D did in my district (TX-4)
