Speech-to-text - Need some input.
A friend stopped by. He's in his 60s, not terribly tech savvy (although he's smart.) He's about to retire, and wants to write his memoirs (actually, I think he wants to write some D&D stuff.) He wanted my advice on speech-to-text options. The last time I tried it was probably 20 years ago, and I found it took longer to dictate and fix the errors than it did to just type it, so I haven't bothered to keep up with it. I told him I'd look into it.
Does anybody have a quick bit of advice on what to tell him?

It's almost as if people are the problem.

I'd still go for DragonDictate, if he wants to spend the money. But try the one built into Windows or whatever platform he uses and see how it goes for him first.

i was working at Nuance when they were transitioning to a subscription model for Dragon purely for the extra cash flow.

Yeah, I can't see him opting for a subscription model for anything. It's one modern trend in non-game software that makes me rage faster than anything else.
