Conservative UK MP stabbed to death

Post by malchior »

Sad event for the UK
We are now in a position to confirm the man who died in Leigh-on-Sea today was Sir David Amess MP. We were called to an address in Eastwood Road North shortly after 12.05pm today (Friday 15 October) to reports Mr Amess, 69, had been stabbed. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, sadly, he died at the scene. A 25 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody. We have recovered a knife from the scene and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. We are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw anything or has CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to come forward. We want to say thank you to the members of the public who alerted so quickly. We need anyone who saw anything or has CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage to contact us. If you have any information you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk

Yuck.
“The early investigation has revealed a potential motivation linked to Islamist extremism,” the police said.
That always makes things extra fun.

Something I really despise killed by something I hate. I am confused.

Like that one bald section chief who reads of the orgy of killings on that movie "Burn After Reading" The dude closes the folder and asks

"What did we learn?"

Man charged with his murder today
The British police on Thursday charged a 25-year-old man with murder in the killing of David Amess, a lawmaker who was stabbed in a town east of London last week. The attack has rattled the British political establishment and intensified concerns over the security precautions for members of Parliament.

The man charged was Ali Harbi Ali of North London. The police said in a statement that he had also been charged with preparation of terrorist acts and that he would appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later in the day.

Mr. Amess, a Conservative Party lawmaker who represented part of Southend, a town in the county of Essex, was meeting with constituents at a church in the Leigh-on-Sea neighborhood at the time of the attack. Members of the local community have been shocked by the brazen public killing in their seaside town.

David Anthony Andrew Amess was born on 26 March 1952 in Plaistow, Essex (now part of Newham, London). From a working-class background, he was the son of James Amess, an electrician, and his wife Maud Martin, a dressmaker. Amess was raised Roman Catholic like his mother. Maud died on 12 October 2016 at the age of 104.

Amess attended St Anthony's Junior and Infant School, then St Bonaventure's Grammar School (now St Bonaventure's Catholic School), an independent school on Boleyn Road in Forest Gate. He said later in life that his political interests stemmed from his time at St Bonaventure's, where he stood for the Revolutionist Party, whose key demands were for minimum pocket money and the abolition of homework; by the time he became an adult, he was a Conservative. As a child he had a stammer, and speech therapy to correct this resulted in the loss of his natural Cockney accent. Amess went on to Bournemouth College of Technology (now Faculty of Science and Technology of Bournemouth University), where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics and government. Amess taught disabled children at St John the Baptist Primary School in Bethnal Green for a year (1970–71), and then spent a short time as an underwriter (1974–76) before becoming a recruitment consultant.
I mean if you can't see that a man like that is the enemy of all mankind, not sure what to say.
