I’d wait for the final injury report on this one. Bills defense might be missing three of their top 4 DTs, and their *entire* starting secondary (top two CBs and top two Safeties).
Tre White (CB1)
Dane Jackson (CB2)
Micah Hyde (FS1)
Jordan Poyer (SS1)
Ed Oliver (DT1)
Jordan Phillips (DT2)
Mitch Morse (C1)

All out. I will be stunned it the Bills can still win this game. That just feels like too much for a team to overcome.

Although even with all of that, they are STILL giving 4.5 points on the road, which seems insane.

I feel like Delay of Game should be a loss of down and not a 5-yard penalty. This 4th & X yards attempt to get the D to jump offsides - only to be charged with 4th & X+5 yards is meaningless as a penalty.

Wah! Both Brady and Carr fail on game tying 2 point conversions as time expires. And the Chiefs throw away the win for taunting!

That's the spirit.

On a side note, if Jacksonville doesn't suck this year, how is Houston supposed to get any wins this year?

That was a nasty head injury for Tua. Hope he’s ok, looked really bad.

They took him straight to the hospital.

This.

I can’t believe how much they blew off the safety protocols on him and then this happens. I seriously wonder if he will be able to sue the NFL?

I wonder that too. I also wonder if we will have to see someone die on the field before this sort of recklessness is dealt with.

It’s such a weird situation with Tua. I don’t care in the slightest that they let him play with a concussion. I mean, he’s the one that has to live with the consequences. Well, and I guess his loved ones.

But what I cannot abide is the Dolphins telling me that it’s a back injury, because TUA said it was a back injury. Like…that’s why you don’t ask players that have just clearly displayed the effects of brain trauma.

A lower back injury can cause gross motor instability. I’ve had it (as recently as three weeks ago). But when a lower back injury causes gross motor instability, you do not appear drunk, and your back doesn’t feel “loose like Gumby”. Your back seizes as the muscles spasm, and you fall down like a tree trunk (because your back is trying desperately to prevent a spinal cord injury). It is *intensely* painful. And no human that has ever experienced it has done so without immediately touching the area.

Tua reached for his head, shook the cobwebs out, then displayed gross motor instability. He clearly had a concussion (even if he passed the test). Now his concussion has an even more severe concussion.

You hate to see it, but that’s why you don’t ask the player and then believe whatever his concussed brain says (given that he may not even remember the incident).

I don't watch much NFL, but I do follow some of Bama's former players casually. When I saw him lying there with his hands scrunched up like that it was scary. Hopefully he's going to be ok and he can be back to normal soon. I know these concussions can have a long term health effect though.... long enough that he might not know the extent for many years.

He truly is a very good young man. Charitable and polite to anyone he meets.

Also, I have to say that in this day and age I find it hard to believe that the Dolphins would shortchange or fake the concussion protocol. With all the emphasis on treating head injuries and stuff, I just can't see them doing that. Maybe I'm wrong.

It is my opinion that one cannot declare what they themselves exude. It’s a poor use of the word.
Maybe he exudes conviction, maybe he doesn’t. That is ours to say. That his message to us is that he exudes conviction, it’s like a tell to what his brain wants to say: “Please think that I exude conviction”.

A person that actually exudes conviction would more likely say something like “The one thing I can say with conviction…”

Agree, to an extent. You can declare your exuding state. Bit of a twat move if you ask me, but it can be done.
I EXUDE GREATNESS!! BOW BEFORE MAHHH

OTOH, he is not even claiming to exude a state...he's exuding the weirdly specific fact that EVERYONE in his building had the...correct process and...dilligence . Mayhaps he has achieved a greater level of exuding than mere mortals, and can exude, like sweat, VERY specific things...JUST BY SAYING THEM OUT LOUD.

ESPN
The unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant involved in clearing Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa during the game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills has been fired after it was found he made "several mistakes" in his evaluation, sources told ESPN.

A source said the NFL Players Association exercised its right to dismiss the consultant. The NFLPA and the league each have the right to fire a UNC without agreement from the other party.

They never showed it during the broadcast (that I saw) but there is footage of a second angle of the incident on Sunday. After the back of his head got whipped into the ground, it looked on the broadcast angle that he just reached up to grab his helmet. He did not.

He went into the same posture he went into on Thursday (without the severe distortion of his fingers, and not as long). But he had the posturing on Sunday immediately following the impact to the ground.

He then stumbled to his feet, shaking his head. He then stumbled to his knees and then couldn’t stand while people were holding him. These are the classic signs of brain trauma, exhibited immediately after an event that is specifically known to have a very high probability of causing brain trauma (back of helmet getting whipped into the ground).

The team doctor and consultant somehow missed it. And they took the word of a playing (most likely suffering from brain trauma), that he was actually suffering from a substantial lower back injury - despite no appearance of lower back pain at all (if you’ve hurt your lower back, you know what I mean).

Now cut to Thursday and watch the sack again. His head barely contacts the ground, and he is locked in that posture for an extended period, and it was minutes before he moved any element of his lower body.

It’s very likely that the second concussion occurred while he was being spun to the ground, and not when it barely made contact - because that’s what happens with second concussions. You are really susceptible to additional concussions if you haven’t recovered from the first one.

I feel bad for Tua as he seems like a really good dude. But his team is doing him dirty through gross incompetence.

Pickett time has arrived in Pittsburgh! There seemed to be an instant spark for the offense. Unfortunately a terrible decision led to a pick that turned into the game winning drive for the Jets.

Still, we saw what Trubisky had. I would have switched to Kenny after the third quarter last week, giving him some extra times in practice as the starter.
