Announcement
There was an issue that appeared for a day or so where a reload of the page would not correctly display the words previously played. This would happen more often on mobile devices that don't keep the page in memory when switching apps. This problem has been fixed. Apologies for the inconvenience.

A change has been made in the page selection algorithm to address the fact that some Wikipedia topics seemed very obscure (anyone speaking Tocharian?). The choice is still automatic and random, pages are still unpredictable but they hopefully should be of a more common knowledge from now on.

That does go a long way to improve Pedantle. Tocharian was not fun for me but my wife was also running into the disagreeing word bit which was even worse.

I solved Semantle #129 in 137 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 11.20. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #13. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 66.04 (997/1000).

I seem to be semantically challenged today.

I solved Semantle #130 in 233 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 12.42. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #120. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 13.75.

The answer was "mac" so I should have been able to make the jump from macaroni, but I didn't. However, there was no way I was going to be able to guess any of the intervening words (computer related stuff and... dudes' names?) without actually solving it first. I was just too hung up on the food.

I think this is a repeat. I know I've seen the same answer, but I don't remember if it was Semantle or Semantle Junior.
