I solved today's Redactle (#67) in 30 guesses with an accuracy of 53.33%.

This one felt tough. Really it would have been even tougher if I didn't make a nice guess after taking a multi hour break to have dinner. The messed up formatting on the block in the center didn't help.

I normally don't respond directly but I wonder if you had the same 4 word phrase give you a big clue?

I solved Semantle #136 in 102 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 1.15. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #40. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 69.08 (999/1000).

I was heading in the right direction at the start, then took a left turn at Albuquerque and wandered aimlessly (as is my way) until my penultimate guess put me on target.

I solved Semantle Junior #23 in 20 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 5.41. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #14. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 56.41 (996/1000).

Where, what, when, there, that, are

Little words that inflate your hit % and make the articles more readable without really giving direct clues. My wife and I have been calling them newspaper words but I don't know which one of us came up with it.

Makes sense. Since I started playing it daily I've often thought that I should work out some sort of systematic strategy to improve my score, but I always end up winging it.

I found #pedantle #27 in 82 guesses!

Two days in a row of playing these. Maybe it's going to be a summer phase for me.

Pedantle has received another QoL upgrade:

Pedantle has learned how to pluralize and conjugate: if you enter a word root, it will try to match the text with its plural or conjugated forms if it's a verb. Note that this applies to correct words only, close words in gray will always be the words you entered.

I think I'm enjoying Redactle/pedantle because I'm bad at it.

I solved today's Redactle (#70) in 186 guesses with an accuracy of 58.60%.

Then I tried pedantle and got impatient, frustrated and stopped wasting my time. Maybe I'll drift back to it later.
