So are we finally going to get a Stargate game? Too bad this didn't release during the shows run..geez.
Stargate: Timekeepers is a real-time tactics game where you lead a team of specialists through a story-driven campaign set in the SG-1 universe. Sneak your characters behind enemy lines, use their unique skills, craft the perfect plan to unravel a timeloop mystery, and defeat the Goa’uld threat.

I question whether a real-time tactics game would be the first choice of whatever remains of this franchise's fanbase, but beggars and choosers and all that.
I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg
My first thought on reading this was that it was X-Com style, which would not work well. But it is Commandos style, which I could see working. That style can handle RPG interaction, character building, adventure gameplay, and action as well as sneaking.
And for a great deal of the series the premise was that Earth was a huge underdog. The early seasons had plenty running, sneaking, and hiding because we were always outgunned.
Its like Evil Genius but more serious. Bout time someone took it seriously and made a game for us to try. Seems fun. Going through those gates could make it very open ended. Never know what you'll find.

Just a heads up...this is on sale at Steam right now for $18.39.
So if you ever wanted to be Stargate Command and SG-1 rolled into one nows your chance.

You mean Exogate Initiative? That's a different game from a different company. Stargate: Timekeepers is still a thing, and it's still 'coming soon', but not for sale.

Early reviews are pretty so-so. It is apparently very much in keeping with the established canon, but it doesn't have much of it. You never see Stargate Command, there are no actual stargates in the game, and it isn't the strategy game it looked like - it's a Commandos/Deperados style game.
I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm only on the 2nd mission.
The 1st took me 1.5 hours and LOTS of save/loads. The game actually mentions it's designed for you to do rhis to try different things.
SGC and/or actual Stargates aling with branching destinations would be nice.
I'm mostly not likimg the team structure so far.
1. You can't choose your team.
2. Your team is only 2 people so far. Not sure if it changes later but it does break the immersion a bit because IIRC, 99% of the episodes had 4 man teams at minimum.
I have it on easy and still having trouble figuring out strategies but thats a me issue.
