There are reports that Watson's deal with the Browns is a 5-year contract fully guaranteed at $230m.
Jaymann wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 5:19 pmNow what teams are jonesing for Baker Mayfield?
The Colts should try to get him. I think he would do great there and make them a dangerous team. But I could see the Browns wanting to send him to the NFC. So probably Panthers/Saints/Seahawks?

Did the Browns desire a return to the days when they always had a top draft pick? I don't think Mayfield sucks, why would they even consider this?

A year on the bench does nothing but devalue the worth of Watson. How many times has a player sat out a season and returned to form?

Matt Ryan to the Colts for a paltry 3rd round pick. Since the Falcons missed out on Watson you have to wonder what the plan is. And could they possibly make it any easier for Brady to win the division?

so at this point, i think it's safe to say Jimmy G isn't going anywhere. Which doesn't bother me. I say let Jimmy start another year and Lance can learn more. I don't think he's ready.

That's a  Are they giving up on Tua? That's a lot of draft picks for a backup.

Yeah, this shows they are all in on Tua. With what they are paying Hill and how many picks they gave up for him, they are trying to win now.

My guess is Jaymann confused Tyreek Hill with Taysom Hill. Those draft picks would definitely be a lot of Taysom Hill. :D

I just noticed the Chargers signed free agent TE Gerald Everett from Seattle, since Jared Cook is a free agent. Nice pick up to get a proficient, younger tight end.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/336 ... les-change
NFL owners approved a modified proposal for overtime Tuesday that will guarantee each team a possession, but only in the postseason.

The rule for regular-season games, which allows the team with the first possession to win if it scores a touchdown, will remain unchanged.
...
If the score remains tied in the postseason after each team has had a possession, the game will be decided in traditional sudden death.
...
Since the previous playoff format was implemented in 2010, seven of 12 overtime games have been won on the opening possession, and 10 of those 12 were won by the team that won the coin toss. A total of 12 games is not a large sample size, McKay acknowledged, but it was significant enough to prompt a change.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Just like before and equally chosen by the coin flip. It's a silly change.

How is that like before? If the first team scores a touchdown the game is not over. The second team will have a chance to score a TD. If they fail then it's game over.

Will remain to be seen whether the winner of the coin toss ends up with a 10-2 record. That'll affect my opinion on the silliness of this change.

Oh Danny - hiding money from the government is one thing. Hiding money from the other owners means you are in for a world of pain.

Brady's wild-a** retirement plan?
tom brady’s plan was to fake retire, become an executive with the dolphins, bring in sean payton to coach, then unretire but the brian flores lawsuit blew everything up https://t.co/YsEq5JfQJz pic.twitter.com/HkZTDRM3tm

— Brian Floyd (@BrianMFloyd) April 12, 2022

Holy smokes! That’s a whole lotta something going on in that story and the tweet above.

Brady’s wild plan to work and play for the Dolphins was ultimately foiled by Brian Flores, whose lawsuit against the NFL and some of its teams for its hiring practices threw a wrench in the entire plan. And that’s just one juicy storyline worth following here. This thing has tentacles with some reach.

I think he's a good quarterback, but probably a bad fit for the Steelers. Plus, not only do you have to trade for him you have to then give him a pretty big contract extension. Otherwise, you are just trading for the privilege to pay him $24mil for a year.

The draft broke perfectly for the Steelers. They had their choice of QB without trading up. I thought they would have gone with Malik, but they went with the local kid Pickett. It’s definitely a cool moment, and his reaction with his family was great.

I went into the draft understanding the need at CB, but really wanted the Bills to draft Breece Hall. I have no idea why they felt they needed to move up to draft Elam, but they did. Beane has earned my trust.

All it took was 10 seconds of watching James Cook highlights after the second pick to forget about Hall.

The idea that you have to add this addendum after guaranteeing over $100 million is crazy. Also horrible that it got leaked as it makes Murray look bad and the Cardinals bad for signing the contract and needing to require it.
