I've got plenty of other stuff to watch too....but this one is in my top 5 easily, and I just can't wait to see what whacky adventures the boys get up to each week. It's a zany, laugh filled fun fest!

....I've been taking writing lessons from the Reader's Digest online review writing class.

I was so mystified by the Zak Snyder filter they used for the S3 opener that I totally didn't recognize the actress that was playing Stormfront in the movie.
Spoiler:
That was Charlize Theron!
Hilarious. I will watch these every week as they air; I enjoy them tremendously.

I can't wait for the spin off. And I've mentioned it before, but there's a serious of short animated films set in the universe of The Boys called Diabolical that's (mostly) fun.

I mentioned it before, but I think the show has surpassed the graphic novel series in terms of quality. The show has found a way to walk a fine line between absurdity and biting satire that the source couldn't pull off that well.

I would assume superstrength in this world would convey a commiserate toughness in order to avoid such scenarios. But then again, I would have thought having the ability to shrink and grow to extreme sizes all your life would mean you had time to learn how to control that power when allergy season hit.

I was wrong. Painfully and gloriously inappropriately wrong.

It's so great how current events fit so nicely into the current story line. The whole Blue Hawk story from this week felt a little too close to reality.

What I love is that they address things by making them feel natural within the context of the characters and the world they live in. It doesn't feel forced at all. The show has really grown into its own. Sure, it's raunchy and gory and over the top...but it's surprisingly intelligent too.

I was going to wait until it was finished to jump in, but found myself with lots of time in a hospital room yesterday as mom recovered from surgery. So now I'm caught up...just in time for what I understand will be one hell of an episode.

Holy shit, what an absolutely brilliant show. Not sure I've ever seen a villain as menacing as Homelander. Starr is absolutely amazing.

Still not quite the best fight scene with

Well...things certainly escalated quickly in this week's show (Herogasm). I thought the fight scene at the end was well done and I'm quite curious to see how it resolves.

Great episode. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out.

After all the buildup, the main…um…scene was actually a bit tamer than I expected.

The main scene wasn't the main scene. It was just more build up. Spoilers for last night.
Spoiler:
That wasn't the big fight. That was the already unbalanced Homelander who was totally untouchable his entire life discovering that he could be beaten. He's never faced death, so he's never had to deal with fear. Now, suddenly, he is vulnerable.

And at the same time, Starlight Annie turns the entire world against him right after his little meltdown about wanting to be loved.

This is setting up him snapping, which is setting up the real main event. And our US analog will probably continue, with his remaining supporters backing him with violence in the streets.

I dont watch the show but kinda keep up with it through videos on YouTube. Is Homelander and the other main 7 perma powered or do they need injections all the time?

Basically the heroes/villains are all 'perma' powered because they were given "V" injections as children. That's 99.9% of the soups you are seeing. They don't keep injecting.

There are only (as of now) 2 normal guys that have gotten hold of a new expirmental form of "V" , "Temp-V" - which lasts about 24 hours it seems. And looks to be very habit-forming.

Honestly. Instead of clicking on YouTube videos for 4 hours every night, why not watch the first few episodes and see if it you can expand that attention span.

Daehawk, they’re messing with you. The Boys is about 3 out of work arc welders all named Ted who get a house together in Trenton and spend their time solving missing cat reports and arguing about the weather. The YouTube trailers are misleading as heck.

The good thing is you don't have to. Just watch a few trailers on youtube and then ask us what's happening on the show.

Son of a...

I guess the first 2 episodes can't be unseen before then. I have to admit though that the opening scene in the first episode was one of cinema's finest achievements. I'll get a second opinion on it when a friend visits sometime this weekend.

Still don’t understand why not starting it before the season is finished is so awful. Why not wait until the show is cancelled or calls it quits while you’re at it?

Because I might want to watch it all this weekend and not wait another week for the punchline? Leaving an episode or two hanging increases the chance that something shiny will come by and distract me and I'll never finish it.

I already watched the first 2 seasons, so waiting for it to finish isn't an issue. Besides, I've been screwed by enough shows that never finished but ended anyway for this not to be a consideration.

Holy shit, what a finale. I did not expect, well, any of that.
Spoiler:
- Noir was always the least interesting character, imo. Glad he went out like he did.
- Awww, they actually sent Maeve to go live on a farm!
- Ryan went from cute kid to menacing evil reaaaaaaaaaly quick.
- Boy, if that last scene of Homelander blowing the "libtards" head off and the MAGA/Nazi crowd erupting into cheers doesn't sum up America right now. :(
- I hope The Deep and Ambrosia can find true love.
- I have a whole new respect for "Maniac"
- Frenchy and Kamiko might be my favorite duo. Every moment they're on screen together, I'm riveted.
I think we can all agree on who the real villain is this season.
Spoiler:

Lot to unpack with that finale:
Spoiler:
Homelander is starting to show the public his true colors and. . . they are eating it up.

Homelander's kid is losing his anxiety about his powers. He's seen the adoration that came from killing a guy that threw a drink. He also knows that there is nobody that could stop him. His dad had five supes trying to stop him and they couldn't.

Does Billy continue to take the stuff now that he has very little time left?

What exactly was Black Noir's power?

Will The Deep and A-Train gain some self respect and turn on Homelander?

Super speed, strength, reflexes, and durability. A super-ninja basically, although they never really showed that.

Will The Deep and A-Train gain some self respect and turn on Homelander?

The Deep got exactly what he deserved. That final shot of him cramming his mouth full of Ho-Ho's while watching his now ex-wife on a talk show spilling the beans on what a douche he is was just :chef's kiss:
One thing I do wonder though:
Spoiler:
What will become of Vought now that "The Seven" is now just "The One". They built an entire media empire on the backs of this super-team, which has now been completely destroyed. We saw a little bit how trying to run a huge global company was making Homelander crack, and I would love for that background pressure to continue to build.

I also don't think we've seen the last of Stan Edgar. For a guy that powerful to simply fade out entirely seemed...off.

About Vought
Spoiler:
They will be able to spin this. Maeve died a hero. Black Noir will probably be presented as a victim of Soldier Boy. Starlight will be presented as a rogue who left the flock and will be the only one painted as the bad guy.

The Deep and A-Train are still onboard. So while it's really a team of one, the image will be a three-man team fighting even though they sadly lost several members.

I wonder if Victoria will be the savior of the Boys. Does her power trump Homelander's? Could she become an ally?
