Agree. Probably a toss up between that role and President as to which ages you faster.

She did a great job in a high-stress position, and will be hard to replace.

Yeah, I will be sad to see her leave. And I also kinda squirm when anyone political then joins a news station. I mean, I get it... but, they will always have that hanging on them. This perhaps is unfair, but it's there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these channels (both right and left) make these press secretaries offers they can’t refuse after a while, just to get better access to the WH.

Have any press secs that left or got fired in recent memory NOT ended up on a news channel?

Well, Sean Spicer for one. Not unless you count a late gig with Newsmax. (I suppose that does technically fit the bill though)

But Fox, CNN, ABC,CBS, & NBC didn't find him credible.

I distinctly remember when George Stephanopoulos made the career move into the news. While he wasn't the official PS, he did brief the press a bit at the beginning of Clinton's presidency.
