I still have a ton of green tomatoes on the vine. They just did not ripen this year.

I guess by this weekend we're finally going to get seasonal (ie, shitty) weather. I thought a few weeks ago I cut the weeds for the last time this year but NO! The bastards kept popping up in this extended warm weather. We're going to hit 70 on Thursday, usually we're dealing with snow or ice.

Would you like some wind with that? We've got plenty. Or I guess with it being election night you've already had plenty :D

Enough to bring down the rest of the leaves, please. I want to finish the fall yard cleanup.

We made it to Orlando no problem. Thursday night-Saturday looks fine. And we are going to brave the rain for a bit and see how it goes tomorrow. I may change my mind once I see it though lol.

From what I can tell all of the models have us in Port St Lucie taking essentially a direct hit. I have shutters up on half the windows, and the wife and kid are home for a few days.

It's not too bad yet. Some wind, but nothing to write home about. I was very surprised to see that the coast is already experiencing flooding from the storm surge. And my parents, who live 1 mile south of me, are in a "suggested" evacuation zone. We're fairly close to the river and I think they are afraid of a lot of flooding with this storm.

We've had a drought in TN. I think I count 2 small sprinkles or light showers in 2 months or more. All the rest is dry sunny days. This storm in supposed to bring us heavy rains Friday in the form of 2" -3" of rain. My well needs it. I can barely drag any water up from it. Took me 2 hours the other day. The water is so low my rope barely reaches it with my bucket so its tough to fill. I need that water badly as I cant afford jugs of water from the store. Ive needed 10 jugs or more for 2 weeks. I get EBT Friday so out Ill go in the downpour because Ive been waiting weeks to get water and food.

We've been getting rain showers on and off all afternoon but the wind hasn't been too bad. The eye of Nicole is just now over Freeport in the Bahamas so we are still a number of hours from peak winds.

Meanwhile in the county north of us, the rough surf and high tides are undermining buildings on the coast...

It really hasn't been that bad. They did close the parks early, but I doubt they do the same tomorrow. We stayed until around 5. And had fun. Lines were short due to the rain. We went on The Mummy 3 times in like 10 minutes lol.

They might delay the opening tomorrow, just depending on the wind constraints. Weather is much worse closer to the coast.

Still a good amount of wind and rain here, but it wasn’t that bad. The eye came onshore a few towns north of here. I slept through the worst of it probably.

I peaked outside this morning and didn’t see any noticeable damage.

We were supposed to drop off my van for some work today, glad I postponed it to tomorrow. Still blowing a lot outside, with some light rain. For those of you at the attractions (WDW and Universal) the back side of the storm has yet to hit you.

We got more damage than with Ian. We lost two sections of overhead pool screening and two decorative items on the back of the house. Otherwise just a couple of trash cans knocked over (I forgot to put them in the shed!) and a lot of leaves blow into the yard.

Disney opens at noon. Universal still hasn't said if/when they will open which is annoying.

Now that the sun is up, here’s a look at Flagler Beach.
Ive been there..right there. I swam on the right side of the pier. I remember ruining my watch because I forgot to take it off. Then went up on the pier with my dad and brother. I was 17 so that was 1986.

Outer rain bands are passing through my area of Upstate South Carolina. Was a bit windy during my run at 5am, but the rain started moving in around 1pm. Not bad, though.

Nicole remnants came up through NJ. The result? 71 degrees and muggy at 10 PM in mid-November.

Beaches and homes on them are becoming more scarce. And some islands are totally gone now or about to be.

My grass got a little water at least. Wish Nicole had left cool and dry weather afterward like Ian did. Finally got around to putting my storm shutters away.

Now it's 71 and muggy in Boston and mildly wet and windy.

This has been a very mild fall. We had six or seven straight weeks of window-and-shorts weather, just ending the day before yesterday.

Today the world is fluffy and white.

We're getting our first winter blast this week. Going to the Sarasota area on the Florida west coast. Highs in the middle eighties Tuesday then in the middle sixties and windy Thursday. We have sailboat rides planned for both days since it is our anniversary, so we're going to have to pack for both situations. Sadly, no snow expected

I'm trying that cacao stuff, supposed to be good for you.
Is cacao healthy or not?
Cacao powder is packed with flavonoids. These nutrients that have been shown to help lower blood pressure, improve blood flow to the brain and heart, and aid in preventing blood clots. The flavonoids in cacao powder may help increase insulin sensitivity, reducing your risk of diabetes.

Not exactly weather, but we had a 2.6 magnitude quake within 5 miles of us. There was just a short "thump" and a brief rumble. Startled my bird.

Years ago I was at a conference at Rockwell International in Whittier CA and was staying near the top floor of the hotel. Late in the evening there was a very slight rumble and the building swayed. A little freaky to someone who has never lived in earthquake territory. But next day no one thought much about it so I didn't mention it.

I think that is by design so they bend but don't break. Learned from all those brick buildings that collapsed.
