Octopus Overlords

I've read everything I can find and they make it sound easy, just add comment and that's that. But it won't allow me to. Is there something in the options? I didn't see anything.

You're saying under a YT video you have no icon for you and a box to type in? Are you logged into Google / YT? If so it should just show up. What browser are you using?

Firefox and I am logged in to YouTube.
It says add a comment but I can't click on it. (no little hand with a finger type thing.)

Where it says "Add a comment..." should just be a text box you can click into and start typing and then the Comment button should become active (for the record, I am using Chrome so it's possible it is different on Firefox.

No text box. The little round green thing with a person in the middle. I can't click on it or the area next to it, on the right.
That's why I was wondering if there is some sort of optional/sign in type thing that I'm not aware of. Like I said I am signed in to YouTube.

There should be a grey line under 'add a comment', and on the left of that is your avatar. Clicking on the line activates the input. Otherwise it blends into the page pretty well. When you move your cursor to the right place, the cursor changes to indicate text input.

Other user comments start there but I can't.

What is different for you?

I have a little green round circle with a little man in it and just to the right it says add a comment but when I click it I get the big eye(I) bar thing like when you want to highlight something. But I cannot add a comment.

If so, that's the default user avatar. It's the same as the pigeon on mine (in the video.)

My first thought is that something is blocking it - likely an addon for Firefox.

It might have to do with my virus protector.
