That's probably because it's been developed by some ex-Telltale developers. It's still got that DNA.

From the reviewer's talk Id have thought it rated a 8 or 9 instead of a 7 at the end there.

Bought...and almost immediately returned. It doesn't have support for ultra wide. Hell, it doesn't even have 4K.

I bought it and kept it. It's working fine letterboxed on my widescreen. So far it's a really good Star Trek episode. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

There appears to be a community fix for 21:9 aspect ratio available now. But I think I'm still going to wait until it goes on sale as I suspect it's going to plummet in price in the not too distant future.
