Ugh I would be worried that the steam version will get patched slower. I meet the specs to play at 1080P easily, but I'll wait for some reviews. I have like 9,000 things to play in the meantime.

Or perhaps skip it altogether? Or play it on PS4.

I don't like this Epic competition.

Damn. It looks like it's already gone. The purchase button has disappeared.

Guess I'll have to deal with the stupid Epic client. :(

I really wanted to get this game, but I really hate and despise exclusives, and I don't want another launcher. And since I have plenty of games in my backlog, and I plan to get Far Cry: New Dawn, I'm just going to wait this one out.

I was looking forward to this but guess I can either wait to 2020 or just wait for the price to come down on PS4 now.

Kinda the same, but I usually buy from GMG then redeem on Steam.
Good news is it will be available on Steam in 2020.
So we have some time to clear up the backlogs.

I am the same and I immediately checked GMG to find they don't have it listed at all except for PS4. That's cool. I like what I hear about Far Cry New Dawn.

Someone who pre-ordered physical copies replied to a tweet about asking how they get delivery. They'll be getting Epic Store keys. People naturally freaked out because it is the internet...and partially because it sure feels like false advertising.

I'm getting more convinced that I might be picking this game up since the story elements sound very good, but only if it has an Easy Difficulty setting. And maybe a mod that sounds a tone to warn you that something creepy is about to leap out of the shadows

Well now Steam PC players have gone and done it. After a bunch of Steam review bombs against the first two Metro games because Exodus is being released on Epic, the devs released this statement, reported via BluesNews
But! Consider the situation deeper. Someone says that they say they crap Exodus and the previous games in the series, it will make the world better, they will put greedy developers in their place. To this I can answer that in a pinch, if at all all the PC players announce a boycott of the Metro, then the next metro, if it does, is definitely not on the PC. Better or worse, decide for yourself. I personally feel sorry for the loyal fans, yes. But my assessment of the work done personally by me and my friends and colleagues will not change this. I firmly know that almost everyone who pours this dirt on the net is also incapable of a bit of what we have done and hopefully do more. And that means they have no idea what they are talking about.
So there!

Its all so silly. People giving great old games shit reviews because they are mad at the dev for the new one is horrible. they should be banned for posting like that. Buncha internet babies. Thats just horrible. Why should the dev not sale it on a platform that gives them more money?

Agreed. Especially when it is going to be cheaper on Epic. I think it's great there is some competition among distributors. Of course whenever possible I'm going to buy through Green Man Gaming since so far I've gotten pretty good deals there.

It is good to have competition by having people more options in buying a game. To limit it to Epic is not good for customers.

A better option is for the dev to pass the extra cost to the customer. So sell the game more expensive on Steam so that the dev earn the same amount of money selling it on steam and epic. Let customers decide if they're willing to pay extra to get it on Steam.

True, but I think this is a good wake up call to Steam. If the game was also available on Steam I think too many people would just buy it there without thinking.

i am expecting more of this in the not-very-distant future. developers are no longer so satisfied with Valve's 30% take, and something's gonna give. if it means more storefront competition, so be it

Lost my interest in stuff. I play some Apex is all. I did want this more than anything else I think. I did find it neat they have a guy named Artyom working for them :) I love the characters of Artyom and Anna. Their romance and lives matter to me. I only hope nothing bad bad happens. I couldn't take that these days.

Jumped on it. Finished it. Great, great game. The best of the series, imo.

As you've seen from the trailers in this thread, Artyom and company leave the Moscow Metro and take train to find a better life - and many different communities are found. Those enclaves are unique and you progress through equally unique environments; it's not just a dungeon/metro crawl any longer. The weapons will be familiar, as will the combat. There seems to be (at least in my limited recollection) a greater ability/reward for sneaking or non-lethal take-downs.

Plot consistency from the first two games:
Spoiler:
Any allusion to benevolent space-beings is tossed aside. Only the horrors of man-inflicted nuclear war is left.
There is absolutely no reason to wait for this game to be released to the "open" marketplace if it's at your price-point and you want to play it.

Note: I bought it pre-sale (on Epic) and they refunded me the difference once it went on sale. Impressed.
So sayeth the wise Alaundo.

I got xbox game pass ultimate which has this for windows 10. I played about 2 hours and have no interest in continuing. I had basically the same reaction to the first game, except I quit much faster (Metro 2033 - 0.2 hrs on record), so this shouldn't come as a surprise. I guess I saved myself some money. Too much of what they want you to do just seemed opaque to me. The gun play, gun parts, and stealth were all good and I think I could get used to whatever it was that bothered me, but I just don't see a reason to continue.

I completed it and got the good ending. Still I must say.......
Spoiler:
MILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish that did not have to happen. Im curious how they go back to get the others...like the little sick kid or the guy's wife in Moscow. They have traveled for over a year now through hostile areas. Now they gotta go all the way back then back to the new safe clean area.

Well... assuming you played it like I did, it's likely that much of the areas that they passed through are a lot safer than they were before. 8-)

But, yeah, I wondered the same thing. They really need a railyard so they can turn the engine around. And probably pick up some extra parts. But if they prepare, they won't have to stop as often on the way back. Though the bridge might still be an issue. Not to mention that they aren't going to be welcomed back with open arms in Moscow.

Maybe that'll be the next game.

Is the only DLC for this called The Two Colonels? If so is it worth $5? Would be interesting to see what Miller was up to there on that mission he went alone on. It didn't tell me anything about it in the main game. Or is it just that kids fathers story? Which would be weird. But still would like to know if the DLC is fun before I delete the game.

EDIT: Looks like a 2nd DLC is supposed to come out early 2020..Sam's Story. Hmmmm. The first DLC is $5 but the pass for both is $24...what kinda crazy pricing is that. I bet the 2nd will be just as cheap after 6 moths of so. Maybe it'll wait.

Thanks go to Blues News.

Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition Next Week
4A Games announces a May 6th release date for the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition, saying the ray traced version of the first-person shooter will be available for Windows via the Epic Games Store, GOG.COM, the Microsoft and Steam. For those who already own the original version, the Enhanced Edition is a free upgrade.
I have the same old 10 year old hardware I had when I played it so no use to me.

Built the best i could in 2010 or 2011.

Intel 2600k cpu
Asus P8P67 Deluxe mobo
16 gig Gskill Ripjaw ram
GTX 950 2 gig video card. Thats thanks to someone on here years ago. My 770 died and I was using a 270 or something.
Sound Blaster Z
Corsair HX850 PSU
Asus 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor

Think thats all.

I am far from an expert, but I'm guessing issues related to what you can and cannot run come down to this relationship:
GTX 950 2 gig video card.
Asus 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor
Specifically that the video card you're using cannot run current games (well) on that monitor.

I think the only reason I've been able to keep using my 970 is because I'm on a 21.5" 1920x1080 monitor.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

Its the 2 gig memory on it thats ruining games. Just cant fit the textures on it. So cant turn on effects in the new stuff...the very newest it just wont play at all now.

Was a beast in its time though. But the video card and cpu are killing me.

I had a 1920x1200 monitor before this one myself. Kinda miss those extra 2" at the vertical. But love the width.
