New Metro is coming. Saw the demo trailer just now on the Xbox showcase. But its on all systems.

Looks great.

Oh hell yes. Wow. That looked awesome. One of my favorite franchises. And since STALKER 2 doesn't seem likely...

I'm in.

Beautiful art. They have always been top notch at the art. Been considering a rerun of both games using the Redux versions. Ive finished both at least twice before but that was before the Redux ones.

I know the gas mask has always been a part of the game series but Im really sick of that mechanic. I mean here in this game with people living outside do they wear a mask all day then sleep in it? How do they eat? How do they get any damn sleep when a filter is good for only about 12 minutes? Where are they getting these millions of filters? There must be mountains of used filters. I wish they'd just say its been long enough and now the air is ok and drop the filter switching. Its honestly worn out its welcome to me.

I love the idea of this, but... well, I just tried the Prey demo (I don't know how I missed it when it came out) and I'm finding that I'm starting to suffer from motion sickness. Weird, I never had a touch of it during Far Cry 5 or AC Origins. Maybe because the demo was set indoors? Anyway, glad to see that Exodus moves outdoors.

Visually, that was amazing. I'm just not sure how much fun that would be. Is it more survival and less shooter now?

So... they no longer need to wear breathing masks outside? Guess that makes the exodus part a bit easier.

Actually, they stated that the masks would still be required. However, it's unclear on whether they will be required everywhere, or just in some of the more radiated zones. The good news is that you can craft your own if you have the parts.

I watched some video last night of around 20 minutes of gameplay and he put his mask on when he dropped into a tunnel so it appears to be situational.

That is good news because the mutant rat broke his mask in that first video.

Everyone is out to rip you off these days. Really starting to make me mad. Nothing in this Spartan edition makes it worth $234 or even $100+.

http://www.metrothegame.com/en-us/

The Spartan Collector’s Edition includes:

A Premium Artyom Statue: This highly detailed, hand-painted resin statue stands at 10.5 inches high and captures the iconic scene from the Metro Exodus announcement trailer of Artyom fighting off a deadly Watchman. Each statue is individually numbered.
Authentic Spartan Order Dog Tag: A finely crafted replica of Artyom’s Spartan Order tag.
“Artyom’s Memories” Collectible Postcards: Arytom’s most treasured items are postcards from the world before it was devastated by nuclear war. Fans of the Metro series will recognize Artyom’s collection, given to him by those he encounters on his journey.
Spartan Order Patches: Two authentic Spartan Order patches to wear with pride.

The Spartan Collector's Edition ships in a gigantic, barrel-shaped package, based on an in-game design that adds to the authenticity.

The Spartan Collector’s Edition can be purchased as a stand-alone item or complete with a copy of The Aurora Limited Edition, giving fans the choice of where and how they buy Metro Exodus.

(The Aurora Limited Edition contains a copy of the game in an exclusive Steelbook®, a beautiful “World of Metro” Art Book, and the Metro Exodus Expansion Pass, all contained within a custom metal outer case inspired by the iconic in-game locomotive, The Aurora).

The Spartan Collector’s Edition is priced at $149.99 stand-alone, or $234.99 when bundled with an Aurora Edition. It will be available in selected countries, and additional delivery charges may vary.

The Spartan Collector’s Edition is available in strictly limited supply, so reserve yours today!

Metro Exodus will be released on Feb. 22, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC

Nobody is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it. The base game will still be available. Just because you think it's dumb doesn't mean there aren't fans of the series that really want it. I'm not buying it, just like I didn't get the one for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I still cherish my version of Fallout that came with the Pip-Boy and Vault Boy bobblehead, though. Your stupid thing is someone else's cherished memorabilia.

Well to me they are nothing more. Even though I did collect the bobblehead :) Maybe I should say they seem flimsy junk more likely. Then again I have a useless Oblivion coin.

Oh, I just saw that over at Blues or somewhere, I thought it was still up in the air. Anyway, I've installed Metro 2033, which I got for free a while ago, to see if I might like the gameplay. I saw an article and features video over on Rock, Paper, Shotgun that made me feel like maybe I've misjudged the series.

You should have plenty of time. I was recently looking at the times that Steam has for me on the first two Metro games. It looks like they usually take me ~16-17 hours.

I'm also not sure that I'd use the first two games to judge the new one. Except maybe in terms of atmosphere or "flavor". The first two were definitely old-style FPS rail (literally in a few instances) shooters. While you could approach the maps in multiple ways, you were still pretty limited. Definitely not open-world. It sounds like the new one is going to be much less on rails.

Oh dear... I've played 94 minutes of Metro 2033 (never played either Metro game before) and I'm getting the impression that most of it is either weird creatures suddenly rush out of the void and attack, or you have to gun your way through bad guys in pretty tight spaces. The story is good of course, but I'm a gameplay sort of fellow. In the Borderlands games I fought with weird creatures but rarely this suddenly materialize out of nowhere mechanic. I'm thinking that I might have passed on Metro 2033 and Last Light before for good reasons. Still, Exodus looked much more open world and maybe not so, well, it freaks me out stuff.

The weapons certainly look interesting and I like the system of modding similar to Homefront: The Revolution. It's still a toss-up between this game and Far Cry: New Dawn.

PC Specs. Eight GB VRAM for recommended? Sheesh, My fairly new GTX 1060 6 GB don't make that cut. At least my processor is an i7-4770K, so that's good. And no, I'm not going to upgrade to Win10 for you, Metro Exodus.
