'Conan' to 'retire' in 2021

Post by Isgrimnur »

Deadline
Conan will come to an end on June 24.

This comes more than 10 years after the former host of The Tonight Show kicked off his eponymous show on TBS.

The final weeks of the show will include a lineup of special guests and the finale will be an extended hour-long finale that will look back at his lengthy late-night career.
...
From June, he will turn his focus to developing a weekly variety show for HBO Max as part of his new deal with WarnerMedia.

Team Coco will produce the new HBO Max weekly show, and the company is already in business with the streamer, making a series of stand-up specials featuring comedians including Chris Redd and Moses Storm.

Never could get into Conan, or any other modern talk show host for that matter. I do think he did some funny stuff, his shows from Comicon were pretty good. And his game reviews/play thrus were good.

His international shows were great. And almost anything with Conan and his producer Jordan Schlansky is gold.

The show’s Conan Without Borders travel specials featuring O’Brien traveling to other countries will continue to air on TBS.

I haven't really watched his show since it moved to Cable. Not out of not wanting to, but out of convenience as I don't even remember where it's been airing in Canada.

I haven't watched any of the late shows in many years. So boring and all the same. Craig Ferguson was pretty funny but I only caught that via clips on youtube.

This sums up my feeling as well. I recently watched a lot of the youtube Ferguson clips where all of a single guest's visits are edited together.

That's funny - I had heard that so much that I listened to the first 10 and then decided to pass. I like his show, but this was not for me.

I'm always surprised to remember that Conan is like seven feet tall (if you count his hair).

No leprechaun should be that tall.

Hilarious, as usual. Always liked Conan. Pretty much anybody that was a writer for The Simpsons is on my 'teh funny' list.

I'm never sure how much Jordan Schlansky is playing a character vs. how much it's really being himself.

So if you haven''t watched any late night shows in that long why does this post offend you so?

Why do you always feel the need to shit on the things that other people like that you do not?

Is it because you don't know how to get any weed?

No shit. I struggle to think of any ‘appearances’ like this of his where I’m not blown away and smiling ear to ear after watching.
