So he threw his wife under the bus to buy himself, what, two hours of cover before the full story inevitably came out?

It's all about the family. Name.

It's all about the family name.

Falwell: “My wife had a brief affair but I have forgiven her.”

Pool Boy: “We did it for seven years and Jerry watched.”

I’m willing to bet there’s even more to the story.

Like more info on Ben Crosswhite, the personal trainer who got the sweetheart deal on the training facility? Or maybe about how he was convinced to endorse Trump?

To be a family named Falwell they never seem to fall well. More like slip on the wet spot and crash hard. Then again they are related to Jerry Lee Lewis. As he'd say "Great balls of fire!" Then they get a shot to clear that up.

This whole thing is just one gem after another.
“while her indiscretion may have been more obvious and apparent, I realized that there were important smaller things I needed to do better too.”
Like what, not looking Giancarlo in the eye while he was mid Dirty Sanchez?

I wonder if Jer would use a bad Italian accent while watching his wife with the pool boy?

"You-a gots to work-a the calves, Giancarlo! She like-a the calves to be-a worked!"

That or he went with offensive biblical puns.

"IT'S THE SECOND COMING, GIANCARLO!"

I was looking at some earlier articles and noticed this image of Becki appearing to lustfully look at said pool boy as he shook Trump's tiny hands (click to embiggen):

Edit: and Trump seems to be grinning like, yep, I know.

That picture confuses me. Becki looks young enough to be Falwell's daughter, but that photo can't be that old as Granda is only 29 currently.

I think Becki is the one on the left, partially behind Trump. At least a quick perusal of Google images suggests that.

It could be worse. That guy could be saying things like "So he told me that after years of marriage his wife says she needs someone more well endowed to satisfy her and, well, since I'm swinging four and a half inches between my legs Jerry thought I'd be able to keep her happy".

Lolz.

Falwell, who took over as president of Liberty in 2007 after years as a lawyer handling its real estate interests, intertwined his personal finances with those of the evangelical Christian university founded by his father.

During his time at Liberty, Falwell made sure his entire family fed on the cash cow by putting his two sons and their wives on the payroll. He also transferred a large Liberty facility to his personal trainer and had a friend’s construction company manage a university expansion project that cost hundreds of millions, according to Reuters.

Falwell, who has claimed he is getting a retirement and severance package from Liberty worth $10.5 million, denied that he did anything inappropriate and claimed each transaction benefited Liberty University.

...

Liberty has declined to comment on Falwell’s golden parachute but “subsequently announced it was hiring one of the leading forensic firms in the world to conduct a thorough investigation” that will examine the school’s operations under Falwell, including financial and real estate matters, Reuters reports.

When contacted for comment, Falwell told Reuters he looked forward to the investigation.

“I welcome it because it will prove that all you guys (media) are liars. … You got nothing,” he said before warning the service against contacting his sons who are still employed at Liberty.

"Trust me,’” Falwell said, “you do not want to mess with me, OK?”

Tennessee
A federal court has filed an injunction prohibiting a Tennessee school district from imposing religion on students.

Two atheist families previously sued Smith County Schools claiming district officials there promote Christianity. The lawsuit was filed by American Civil Liberties Union-Tennessee (ACLU-TN). It claimed Smith County school officials engage in unconstitutional practices that include school-directed prayer during assemblies, Bible distribution during classes and a large cross painted on the wall of a school athletic facility.

Late Monday, a federal judge issued a consent decree, an injunction agreed to by the school district to resolve the lawsuit.

"School officials may not incorporate official prayer into school events, pray with students, or encourage or promote student prayer," a news release from ACLU-TN said. "They also are prohibited from promoting their personal religious beliefs to students, posting religious iconography, and inviting outside guests or third parties to pray during school events, proselytize students, or distribute religious literature to students in class."
It's almost as if people are the problem.

The Falwell train wreck just keeps on going...in slow motion...and with no innocent victims.

Jerry Falwell, Jr. was found intoxicated and bleeding at his home

I should be able to find some sympathy for this guy, but I just can't. He spent his entire life judging others...while doing the very things for which he condemned others. I'm fine with that entire clan going down in flames.

Finding hypocrisy despicable is nothing to feel guilty about.

When the flames die down he'll take to conservative media for the usual victimhood tour, probably claiming that he's a casualty of cancel culture. Evidence of his great suffering will be that he's now merely a multi-millionaire rather than a multi-multi-millionaire, or something. The self-righteous rage will be incandescent.
